I'm working from my phone so I'm having trouble using code.
Also if you look on that website they have a super thin clear adhesive backed paper you can put on top to that get that factory shine.
Thanks durb! I've already commited to my Jagermeister theme for this one,but I'll be trying that out for sure on my other projects. Hard to find off the shelf stickers for 1/12. Your car certainly turned out nice! Awesome work on that baby!
Here is where I'm at so far. These are really crappy photos but I've still got a long ways to go anyway. Better photos will come later.
Comments and critique welcome. Still have more stickers and details to add. The wing will be stripped and repainted tomorrow. Photos came out poor like my others so I just threw a bunch out there.

Wow I love this car! you could not have picked a better sticker selection! ha ha.
Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm still working on the wing. It's hard to get good coverage with Fasorange over a primered surface so I'm slowly adding coats to it. Once I've got good coverage I'll wet sand it carefully and then seal it in several more coats of gloss. Probably start on the final mechanical updates while I wait for the wing to dry.

I automatically thought of Jager the first time I saw the car. It's that orange paint! I got lucky on those stickers too cause they're from the Tamiya replacement body set in 1/12 and those are hard to find anymore. You can still find the decal versions ,but those tend to be too transparent over dark colors.
slotcarrod wrote:I was wondering where you got the stickers from! As usual, fantastic! Now how is the driver looking?
Thanks Rod! I'm having a hard time convincing myself to grind up that driver. Was thinking I might save him for a scale model. I'm still thinking about it though.
Wing with first coats of paint on it. Still lots more to do before the clear can be sprayed. The wing is not perfect and probably never was. I won't replace it though as it's an original part and adds character to the car. Probably trim the number roundel on the nose. I've got an idea for adding details using some vinyl stickers I have. Hopefully it will work out like I want it to.
I've got NOS Futaba servos for her now and may replace the reciver with this new one too. Also have correct resistor mounts and tie rods. Lots of work to do!
Nearly at the finish line! Just need to finish the decals on the body and this car is done.
Since I caught heat for having non vintage servos I've gone and rebuilt the entire chassis. Now I have all NOS vintage Futaba radio gear. I've also got the correct Associated 05 stock closed end bell motor and NOS Associated tie rods. The wing is also done and mounted up. I hope you will approve of my efforts.
I've found a carpet track near me for 1/12 race cars so it's time to build a runner. Thanks to Gomachav I now have one of his beautiful new RC12E chassis for this project. This will be a mix of old and new. I'll be using modern servos and a 2.4ghz...
Like I really need to start another project. Anyway this will be an RC12E with the Greenwood Corvette body from TBG. This will have period correct electronics and it will be fully functional like all my cars so far. It will be a resistor...
Pretty much new around these forums, I have been registered for a little over a month now.

As soon as I saw the chassis I knew I recognized it. Then I identified some of the other parts. I saw your original auction. Couldn't believe someone would take apart such s nice car that someone put that much time into putting together.
I've been interested in doing something different from 1:10 offroad buggies lately and had been eyeing pan cars on eBay the last several months, waiting for something good but cheap to pop up. I finally spotted a nice auction lot with carbon fiber...

Why has that body never been produced?? I'd love to have one.
Manufacturers are too busy producing 8 versions of Mustang and 6 flavors of Camaro and a dozen iterations of Corvette bodies to develop a Grand National body, evidently.
What's the best way to clean off lightly rusted screws? I have a slew of them from a bunch of used trucks I bought over the last year or so, figured I would take a shot at rescuing them before placing and order with McMaster. The ball studs are just...

I remember naval jelly from years ago, trying to treat the rust on my '84 Omni. I was looking at degreasers a couple weeks ago at Lowe's, and again today, they've been out of that stuff for weeks.
Soaked all the screws in Purple Power, rinsed them...
also, the motor is shot, i tore it apart today, the connecting rod was broke, the bearings were seized, i had to hammer on the crankshaft out to even get it to start moving. I am most likely going...

It's a first run second generation. The newer ones had the blue chassis and the cylinder head you have, then went to a blue cylinder head and then finally to the 2.5 series engines. The first generation ones had a brownish-purple chassis on them....
well, im sure none of u know me(unless u know me from another forum), but a long story short, this was my first r/c. I got it when i was 7 years old, It was the early early version with the MSC, and no slipper, and once the slipper came out, i(my...
