JRX2 into a "Heavy Metal"
JRX2 into a "Heavy Metal"
this is im sure a question that has been asked although i couldnt find it so here it goes. what body mounts do i use or adapt to be able to mount the heavy metal body on my jrx2. the rear is easy since it uses the shock tower...its the front im curious to know how to do since i havent seen any clear pics as to how it mounts up. im sure its gonna be a custom deal but i dont wanna cut up the buggy i just wanna be able to mount the body very well so that when i find a runner i can execute the modification and have some fun at the track. thanks in advance.
do you think its a bad twilight zone episode for team associated to be re producing a buggy from yesteryear that is capable of beating their latest and greatest production buggy?

Re: JRX2 into a "Heavy Metal"
It really depends on the body. After you get the body, take a look at the stock mounting options (jrxt front bumper and rear mount and lxt front mount).
The other options would be the mounts from a traxxas slash. Their front mount attaches to the front shock tower...and the rear can be modified to attach somewhere also. The one pictured below is the proline version.

Re: JRX2 into a "Heavy Metal"
the original jrxt used a big bumper/body mount that mounted on the bottom of the chassis where a bumper would go. You could find one of those and use it as the factory designed.
down towards the bottom of the page you can see some really good photos:

GoldRush, I think the LXT mount would be better, let me see if I have something layin' around. I do heavily suggest an RPM bumper to protect the nose with a HM body.
Sounds like a great project, I cant wait to see it come to life. You may re-invigorate me to build up a HM again.
