I grew up poor, always got the hand-me downs. I built this buggy out of complete spare parts. What ever rc10 parts i could get went on this. The tub is not my original, the original was a red tub spray painted black. The rims are mix match, the trans was made from left overs.Even the trans case is 2 dif pieces.she is ugly, but I thought it was cool when i was 5 years old. I would like to find the original Sanwa 2 stick radio with servos and manual speed control that i originally had as a kid. For now i got a Xp2 AE radio with a micro receiver, and Novak ESC. Some one told me i should strip it and polish it and dye it all one color. Cant bring myself to do it
This buggy was built from spares as well a few years ago. It was pretty ugly too, then i tried dying the parts black. The body i got off Ebay cheap, I will repaint it later on. This buggy will get the stock speed control and futaba electronics. I have a futaba attack stick radio that will go in this one.
I love the ones that are built from leftovers and spare parts! My favorite RC10 is a mismatched assortment, and right now there's a Tamiya Frog on my workbench that I built from my RC junk bin. Recycling at its finest!

Good way to put spare parts to use. Do you have pictures of your frog? I never did see a mixmatched Tamiya Frog. Seen a few Hornets in my day.

Until I joined this forum, I had never seen or heard about the wide arm build known very well here as OIN. After watching a bunch of OIN builds and reading the thread, I feel the need to build my own. I have a small rc budget so I'm going to use...

Looks great FRGNA!
I was very happy with the overall performance of this car! Maybe even more happy with this car than my CC/RPM worlds car. The funny thing is the RPM ball cups pop off very easy in a minor tunble and are very difficult to reattach...
I've had this Tyco Bandit on my garage wall for something like 2 years. I randomlly decided to do something with it today. The goals for this build are: $30 total investment, and 3 hours or less of work to get it moving under it's own power....

Freaking awsome! I love to see when someone bring these cars back to life!
I picked this up off Ebay a month or so ago.... dirt cheap. It even came with a new, unbuilt set of big bores. Those are being saved for a future 10t build.
The b4 arms showed up yesterday so it's time to tear it down, clean it up and build it back...

Thanks. I'm sure I'll have some setup questions for you.
I got this carcass of a fiberglass RC10LSS in trade a while back (thanks, Jeff), but it was missing a few key pieces. Being rather short on money at the moment since we just had central air installed, I wanted to see if I could bring it back to life...

I haven't updated this thread in a while... It is now back on the original front end, running a set of well-worn Bolink foams. I had a great test run, until the old Trinity motor I was using froze...
Picked up these two trucks ones a JRXT and the other I can't figure out (80 bucks shipped would like to sell one if it can be identified):

87 tooth b4c gear with 19th pinion. It seems perfect for intro into brushless....took a bit to adjust the losi diff...and then get the external slipper just right turns into a preference thing. I run the losi diff fairly tight as recommended by...
Just wrapped up this Optima Mid runner and thought I’d share some pics before getting it dirty at the track. I’ve spent the last few months collecting some OM parts cars and spares from ebay and I’ve nearly enough parts to build two SE’s (future...

Hello everyone! I'm brand new to the forums here and I'm building a ridiculous RC10.
I am relatively new to the rc hobby scene. I have built a nice Quadcopter from scratch, designed and fabbed the frame etc, I have a HPI E10 (first RC car).
I'm...

Who cares about whether or not the end result is drivable? Why does it matter if you end up with a completely useless piece of garbage? As long as barely nudging the throttle results in a chain reaction that first destroys every drivetrain component...
fellas, here's a pic of the gold tub I'm re-doin'.Still needs some parts, but I'm gaining on it.The whole back of the car is RPM parts, bulkhead, arms, and axle carriers,I also have the RPM front arms and steering bellcranks for it too.It should be alot...
