The 10 has some Cibie Super Oscar's now

Was shooting for the KC Daylighter look, but ended up with some Cibie Super Oscar looking off road lights. They are from RAM products. The light up nice, have actual reflectors and are made of polished metal vs plastic that many lights are made of. They are not LED's but regular light bulbs. Adding to the vintage look. I have another pair, debating whether I will put all 4 on the box art body in place of the factory lights or not being these are quite large. I had working lights on my buggy as a kid, just dont remember what I used back then. Either way, they look great on the old red/white body. I would love to find something to make the white covers and letter them with the Cibie lettering. Mike


Forgot to put the pic of my antenna flag, made this on my computer/printer. Got the image from the Badlands offroad park in Attica, IN. We used to go there when I had my Jeep CJ5. I hope to own a Jeep CJ again soon.

Actually, being serious for a minute, what did you use to power them? i.e. did you use a spare port on the ESC or did you run wires and power them with a 9V battery or something? I wanna see under the shell!!

Are RAM lights no longer available? I think they'd be awesome with some high power LED's, but I dig the "bulb" factor.

I'd love to see that buggy with knobbly tires, the waffles aren't offroad enough

You can still get them, these were $19.99 a set from Tower Hobbies. Right now they are tied directly into the battery, so they are on anytime the battery is plugged in. I need to hit the shack and get a micro toggle switch so I can shut them off. The only spare port on my ESC is for BATT, the ESC has a BEC circuit so I am unsure what use the BATT port would have other than power the ESC off a seperate battery pack instead of the main battery. I will try to get some in the dark pics tonight after class. Mike

RAM industries is still in business and he is a super cool guy. You can still get lenses for those lights, etc etc.

Now if I can find something to use as covers like the real lights have. Both Cibie and SEV Marchal had lights of this size back in teh 70's and early 80's. I do wish that Ram made these lights but a little smaller, more inline with the 6" KC Daylighters. The metal housings polish up to look like the Daylighter housings quite nicely. They are probably close to the correct size for a larger scale buggy. Mike

Nice! I love the old RAM lights. I had a set on my original Blackfoot, mounted on the rollbar. They don't stay shiny for long perched up there, I can tell you.
