so i get this email

Post by asashaw »

so this person emails me through ebay probably because of my ebay name. says they have owned this car (never finished it) since new 20 + years. the box wasn't worth showing but i do get one, picture is poor. I offered over $200 and they tell me let me think about it.... well i thought it would be neat to show some pictures because it is pretty old. check the details people, you'll see em.

I'd think so, it looks super clean, you get box, books, some cool stickers and a new shelf queen. That is of course its not all beat up on the bottom. I dunno maybe Im wrong. I do think that's a weird email though. People are strange.

The seller may have been put off because IMO $200 is way too low. I'd pay $350 for that.

I'd be slightly weary of someone who contacts me through ebay offering goods, but doesn't bother to list the goods on his own on ebay. I can't help but wonder what his motivation is. No way I'd be shelling out a few hundred bucks for a sale outside of ebay, unless I could pick up in person (which I did when I got my Bruiser).

Nice car though. I love those Old Milwalkee decals.

Ditto...
He's an idiot. Comes from upbringing. His parents are probably idiots too.

^Yeah be wary but don't just let it slip by, I got most of my cable drive MIP4x4 parts through a random email for a steal of a price...

Dont let that buggy slip away. Think about it like this, back in the day they were over $200 new. Now fast forward to 2007 Buggies are still over $200 new. That is in incredible condition, and they are very hard to come by in that good shape. Your getting the decals, clear body, manuals Ect...

I just bought a b44 for $320 (ouch) and honestly I wouldnt flinch at least spending $250 on that buggy.

You probally got that email b/c he didnt want to wait a week on ebay and risk the chance of not getting what it is actually worth.

$300 is on the high end, but if you dont want to loose it, keep in conversation with the guy and see what he wants to get out of it.

If you decide your totally againced buying it, do one of us, and that guy a favor, and post his info on the board. I am sure it will be sold in no time. :)

That's what minimum bids and reserve prices are for.
