There's a Scan section over on Tamiyaclub.com. If it isn't in there it may be a real tough get. I will go look for you.
Nope. All they have is the Thorp Diff and the RCH nylon Part sheets.
Our very own lowclasscc.net does have the SP-1 instructions and parts list though, in case that helps...
http://lowclasscc.net/downloads/m/mip/
and there is another someone here that may still have one..

Re: MIP 4X400 4wd converstion instruction for Tamiya SRB
I googled it and this came up, just not the instructions.
http://www.miponline.com/MIP/News-FEED/Entries/1984/9/1_Vintage_RC10:_MIP_4x400_4wd_Kit_.html
too bad flipwils didn't scan the directions but I think he sold his kit.
Here's what I saved from the Scans section, its for the RC10 but maybe it will help:

I have the instructions tucked away in an inaccessible box. What was posted above are the instructions which are really rudimentary. Basically you need to play around with the placement of the front tranny which allows the dog bones to set in a natural position allowing the knuckles to turn but not be so stretched that it pulls the out drives from the main gear
