I wonder how many of us are going to trim the chassis or drill a lazy hole lol. Should we take bets on who will be the first to swiss cheese a chassis?

The whole RTR ethos is such a sad state of affairs.

I'm hoping that the re-re's tires are made of a softer compound and have an updated tread for running on today's track surfaces!

As I don't want to dig through 75 pages of thread, is anything known about the fit of vintage options on the re-re RC-10? Will they fit? Or will TT change some parts just so much that things don't fit anymore?

WTF, you didn't read every page like the rest of usEvolutionRevolution wrote:As I don't want to dig through 75 pages of thread, is anything known about the fit of vintage options on the re-re RC-10? Will they fit? Or will TT change some parts just so much that things don't fit anymore?

I gave up long ago when it was at 6000 something views. I think there needs to be threads developed already in the re-re section so people can find info on this easier.
I'm sure if someone has read through the whole thing and remember it all that they would say some questions have been asked over and over.
Maybe a sticky thread with known facts on the re-re that could get updated as time gets closer.

The understanding at this time is although the parts will be distinguishable from original parts they will be backward compatibly with the possible exception of the rear bulkhead (modified for LiPo installation) and gears (up rated for mild brushless motors) so on this basis many vintage options should fit.EvolutionRevolution wrote:As I don't want to dig through 75 pages of thread, is anything known about the fit of vintage options on the re-re RC-10? Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

lol..well, I'm sure there are some who are going to hack into the chassis immediately but I won't be one of them as I rarely "molest" cars unless absolutely necessary (which is basically never).vintage AE wrote:I wonder how many of us are going to trim the chassis or drill a lazy hole lol. That said, having never had an RC10 before it'll be interesting to see what shortcomings the gold pan chassis design has that warrants some to swiss cheese it (other than to save weight).

Yep, just saw it...brings back great memories. I'm surprised I haven't seen more striped replicas like that one on RC10talk. I'm sure there will be a few done up once the re-re is out.

do you think its a bad twilight zone episode for team associated to be re producing a buggy from yesteryear that is capable of beating their latest and greatest production buggy?
