Re: Ultima Trio- oval, buggy, and Truck projects
You don´t really need a body for that one Jeff - unless You´re going to run it.
It looks amazing with the white g10 against the dark graphite.

Re: Ultima Trio- oval, buggy, and Truck projects
Ok here are the truck and pro with bodies....

And the ugly duckling....it's basically the leftover bits. I took 6 shocks and made 4 "non leakers"....and after 3 days of heavy duty shelving they haven't leaked a drop.

And the start of the "last" of the bunch. Copper penny anno. I blame Dennis

Wauw Jeff, this looks fantastic - really something else.
Looking forward to see how You go about the shocks.
Did You polish the radio deck to get it so shiney?

Re: Ultima Trio- oval, buggy, and Truck projects
It's fresh black 1/16 g10. I don't like it as it is actually quite scratched. I won't buy any more black- just using up what I had
I'm not sure what I will do with the shocks. They are copper but a bit blotchy. Not sure if it will be noticeable tho after clamps and springs. Hmmm

I'm jealous your platinums haven't leaked, my brand new fronts leaked instantly, the rears are faring better
Even though its only a shelfer I am considering changing the o-rings in the front ones anyway
I like the look of the Pro with the clear shell

Re: Ultima Trio- oval, buggy, and Truck projects
I have a set of 4 of the tiny shaft o rings, and I think I have found the proper primary o rings....I want to source them for the other two shocks and get them up and working. I was never a fan of platinums but they do have a cool factor! Use green slime if you rebuild them, only way to save those tiny O rings from cutting.
I have a set of ultimate rears, I may locate a set of fronts and use them on the copper chassis. I remember them being very smooth

Re: Ultima Trio- oval, buggy, and Truck projects
What is green slime?
I bet one of the o-rings is more prone to leaking than the other
I have a spare used set of platinums here too, one has a bent shaft but I have a new shaft for it, not sure what I will do with those.
I don't have a set of Ultimate shocks, are they hard to find?

Re: Ultima Trio- oval, buggy, and Truck projects
I am actually looking for a couple covers myself but I will locate you one.
it's the least I can do to offset that lot
If your not ready to send the chassis and nose that's cool- let me know when it's coming.
