WINNERS OF THE GYRC MUSEUM RC10 GIVEAWAY
HELLO AND MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!!!
The Winners have been chosen and I wish we could say it was a tough decision, but it wasn't. Keep in mind this was a contest on modeling and realism.
Well all the votes are in and we have picked our winners. Thanks to all who entered, and all the time spent on the entries.
WINNER of CONTEST 1: RC10 Original Model Build TODD DALY ****** CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!
The high point of the contest was Todd Daly's RC10 BAJA BUG. Really a masterful work of modeling. Modeling was key in this contest and I don't believe many contestants even installed a driver. Luckily for us Todd made up for it with this amazing tribute to the RC10. We loved it, and now here is a few words on his build:
Hello, here is my entry for the contest. It is a RC10 Worlds Car that I purchased new in 93'-94'ish. I have fitted King Off Road shocks with a custom made taller front shock tower, has Tamiya Sand Scorcher tires, Pro-Line chrome wheel covers, Andy's arms, Lunsford Titanium turnbuckles, Stealth gearbox with a titanium top shaft, Houge bellcranks, Blue aluminum front axles, Blue aluminum hardware, a Parma Baja Bug body that has been heavily chopped, and an HPI MT Baja Bug Wing. The paint work was done by myself in Black, silver, grape pearl, blue pearl, fluorescent red, fluorescent orange, and fluorescent yellow, all by Createx.
I made the custom interior and roll cage out of styrene. I also made the custom "carbon fiber" and chrome exhaust, and Fram oil filter from styrene. The air cleaner is a combination of parts from a Tamiya Wild Willys and styrene. If you look close, I even made a tiny wing nut out of styrene to "hold" the air cleaner on. The exhaust was painted with Alclad chrome and wrapped with a carbon fiber decal. The driver is from a Tamiya Monster Beetle, painted to mimic the original RC10 box art driver. The shifter and NOS bottle are from the Wild Willys. The oil filter bracket was also wrapped in a carbon fiber decal. There are aluminum, off road lights mounted on sides, where the mirrors should be.The gear cover is factory AE and was painted black from the inside. I designed and printed the license plate, laminated it, and attached it with screws from eye glasses. "RC10 ME" is supposed to be like "Beer Me".
Well, I think that is about it. Feel free to ask any questions. I hope you enjoy my entry as much as I have enjoyed owning and building it!
Thanks Todd for all your time and effort, really top notch.
HONORABLE MENTION of CONTEST 1: RC10 Original Model Build REGGIE HAMMER
Quality build and fantastic presentation.
WINNER of CONTEST 2: RC10 Action Shot CHRIS BOLAND ****** CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!
Not many entries in this contest and distance of the subject matter was a real problem. Thanks Chris for your entry and we look forward to seeing more of your work.
Thanks to all the Contestants, and all those who put up with us and our addiction to this wonderful Hobby.
SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR JUDGES / LEGENDS CURTIS HUSTING / GENE HUSTING / ROGER CURTIS / CLIFF LETT
FOR TAKING THE TIME TO JUDGE THE ENTRIES AND SIGN THE PRIZES.
Sincerely,
Romulus Von Stezelberger

I love that action shot of the short arm. The orange arms are unusual.
. . . you have Associated Green Slime for brains. And not even new Green Slime, but old gooped out Green Slime.
