how much is to much?
how much is to much?
ok guys I have a delima, how much is too much for the T3? knowing that alot of parts are discontinued should one be purchased as a runner? I want a basher I can find parts easily while I build the oldies, but I can't afford a T4. Any thoughts and opinions are appreciated

personally, i would do what i had to to get a t4. even if that meant having to stop spending money on the old stuff for a little while until you got one.

Re: how much is to much?
I agree, unless you have a ton of crapper parts to keep a basher alive you are better off with something that is still supported 100%.
You could also stock up on beater 10T's and keep the vintage basher spirit alive.
Focus on the poorly listed, rather than using common searches that everyone uses. That's how I built up my stockpile of junk for cheap. If I could get a little ahead I could actually put batteries in my vintage racer and be at the track. The local track is really nice, and that's the only reason I'm not out there waving the vintage flag.

FWIW, I came to the same conclusion as scr8p.
So I bought a T4 first of this month.
Problem is, I haven't been able to STOP buying the "old stuff" long enough to even open the T4 box. And now I'm broke.
It's Definitely addicting. Especially when so much cool old stuff has come outta the cracks and into the Bay the past few weeks...
Alas. I'm Doomed.
WE'RE ALL DOOMED, I TELL YA !!!

Re: how much is to much?
I was leaning toward that and even wanted to sell one of my T2's that is missing peices.
So which way on the T4 then(which kit) the FT or team truck, I could even go with the RTR but people say they are crap. I am leaning towards the team truck kit and using my electronics.

Re: how much is to much?
I would go with the team truck as it is very durable. The FT being comprised of carbon parts makes it "fragile" for bashing.
Here's a pretty good deal for a new one: http://www.ultimatehobbies.com/istar.asp?a=6&id=ASC7020!1007
I have dealt with them for quite awhile now and have always had great service.

I added FT tie rods and front brace to my RTR and still run it today. Almost a year now, only broke a rear mount.
