which turnbuckles and stuff do i need for wide track A-arms?

Post by pcrussell50 »

from this tower hobbies page:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0005p?&I=ASCD6001&P=Z

can anyone tell me besides ordering the wide track A-arms, what else do i need to convert my stock rc10 gold pan to wide track? pretty sure i need longer turnbuckles at the very least, but i have no idea what lengths to order and tower offers too many choices to tell what i need.

thanks guys.

"Y'ernat Al" posted this reworked chart, this should help you with turnbuckles. Look at the team car lengths.

Assuming you are doing the tower also, you can go to the .71 shock set to help with travel. Those were the main differences...shocks, tower, arms, and buckles.

..and you can do the math on the chart to realize the turnbuckles and steering linkage is simply 3/8" wider on each side, so you could just buy some more 4-40 rod (support your lhs there), or a longer ball cup like losi's a6015 will do it too, although you probably sacrafice some strength/rigidity going that route.

Thanks guys. great info, especially ^this^ I didn't see the 0.71 shock setup on Tower's parts page though.

Me thinks this "low inventory" status will be changing someday.
