Essential Tools - Please post yours here

I thought it would useful to post tools people have found very beneficial to the RC hobby. I'll go first - A recent addition to my tool box is the Dynamite EZ Body Post Marker Set (DYN5145). Great on painted bodies, I tried it out for the first time yesterday, and was able to locate near perfect body post holes on the first try. There are a few tricks to using it, and the rubber plug adapters should be replaced with a plastic insert, but this tool will easily pay for itself.

Those are nice keeping with the body mounting theme, a good tapered reamer is a tool you won't ever want to be without once you have used one. Mine is a Hudy, I tried the Dubro and it was junk. The Hudy is pricey but worth it

I always used two 4 way wrenches for my cars, instead of a full nut-driver set. I use a tamiya 4 way that I got from my very first grasshopper, and then a 4 way wrench for standard sizes. It was made by trinity, but not sure you can still get them. very good instead of hunting around for the right size.

xacto blade
set of hex ball drivers
good set of tweezers, I come from an electrical/technician background, so I have a really good sturdy precision set with good jaws
good soldering iron
good set of philips head screw drivers. If using metric screws, the JIC size philips heads are a huge benefit.
great set of needle nose pliers.

you can get a lot done with these few items.

those cheap little plastic tools you get with associated kits. I use those more than anything just because you can toss them in your pocket.

Dirty dirty tools, marring poor gomachv's nuts..... they should be ashamed.

Needle nose pliars

Small jewelers flat blade
Pin vise
Turnbuckle wrench

It is Dremel brand but unfortunately is discontinued. I've had mine for several years and it works great for small jobs.

I purchased this brand solder iron about 2 years ago, and have been very impressed wtih the performance. It heats up fast, and helps make great solder joints.

I purchased a 7x12 mini-lathe about 8 years ago. I like this particular size because it's large enough to make hobby quality stuff, but not too big or heavy to store. If you've ever wanted to learn how to cut chips on a lathe, it's fairly safe to use and not super expensive. I self taugh myself, and over the years have been able to fabricate some pretty cool things. Some of them related to RC10's:)
