That is pretty cool.. if I had the cash I would buy that from you.. I've seen the jg conversion for the 870c/yz10 and thought about building one myself.. your top deck looks good too.. I think I saw your ebay listing for one..

Yeah, the second attempt sold, this first attempt is still listed. Despite being a mix and match of parts, it works very well. Only problem is 1 ball cup rubs the front bulkhead when steering, but that gets fixed today. I think I saw that losi battery cup selling on ebay for 20 dollars plus,, and here its put to good use! I will do up another 1 or 2 "proper" builds too,, this one is just to see if it would work,, and for fun.

depends

I think Losi at the right, AE/Proline at the left (looks like 10T stock tires to me) :)

Oh I C. Good eye. Leave it to me and those vintage tires will be bald within a week. Fronts are Tamiya pretty sure,, king cab wheels and tires. I think Ill change all 4 out for some newer soft rubber tires,, and see if anybody wants these ones...

Little bit of info about the reality of an 870c monster truck. The rear diff will take some abuse! I heard it slipping, and that was a fresh diff build,, so swapped it out for a "slipper diff". Basically, I used a rear pully, and substituted slipper material for balls on both sides, and in the thrust assembly. So, its a dual sided slipper clutch rear diff spool. Hows it work? EXCELLENT! The front end was too wiggly, so Im in the process of tightening it up. Its now got proper yok uj axles and jg mt wheels. Im still trying to find suitable shocks. The ones pictured are on the way to HK now. I have decided its enough of a keeper build to go ahead and un ghetto it..

HAHA, this cars long gone,, and before getting shipped out was transformed to a more proper and mostly stock set up. That was fun,, but man these early yoks do suck up rocks and pebbles easily!
