DS build
DS build
Got this on eBay last week . It arrived in good but dirty condition. BBS wheels and proline tires. Has unpainted Mercedes body also which I won't be using.
Got most of it torn down . Trans is gritty and rear of chassis tweaked . I was able to get it back in shape. It's off to powdercoat tomorrow.
I have new tires and wheels on the way and will probably add carbon fiber towers and bumpers

Re: DS build
Broke down the trans. Wasn't bad , I'm soaking the bearings in gasoline and have to order some small parts.

Re: DS build
I had a feeling there was going to be rust on them turnbuckles, lol.
Over all it looks like a good car requiring a cleaning and diff freshening.
Cant wait to see it done!

For the white ones: RPM 73381 Heavy Duty White 4-40 Rod Endsbigmd wrote:Not sure about ball cups. Was thinkin maybe Lunsford tierods also. What's part number for RPM ?
For the blue ones: RPM 73375 Heavy Duty White 4-40 Rod Ends
For the yellow ones: RPM 73377 Heavy Duty White 4-40 Rod Ends
Regarding the Lunsford tierods, that may be a harder item to get. I've only found them every blue moon for the DS and they were not from that company.
Ive gotten a few sets of Cliff Lett's titanium rods and hinge pins. they were NOS(new old stock).
Re: DS build
I was thinkin of jus buying them separately. But I'm pretty sure they are thicker than stock which would necessitate different ball cups. Which prob means different susp balls.

Re: DS build
The ball cup ends are thicker than stock but fit perfect. The only one that you may need to keep as stock would be the ones that connect to the balls on the front shock tower. They can interfere with a screw end on the shock tower. Ive used the RPM on a lot of the DS's I have.
Look at this pic and you'll see the cup ends are blue except for ends that are closest to the shock tower...
