YZ10 virgin build

Post by alsoli »

Hi,

Finally getting round to build my first Yokomo vintage runner. I couldn't bring myself to upset my 870C as its all original and virtually never run.

I am looking to build an YZ10C / 91 Works, not really sure if I have a good enough platform to start with though. I have part 91 Works (I think) and part YR4 (SP?).

Does anyone recognise the carbon chassis pictured? It has a hump in the middle, looks the shape of a 91 Works, front gearbox also appears 91 Works and rear looks like RPM.

Thanks,
Scott

You've got some trick parts there.

Never seen that chassis before tho, custom made perhaps?

Could be custom, its extremely lightweight. I'm not really sure.

Does any one have recommendations for arms, hubs and drive-shafts. Maybe an option that is readily available?

I think the 91 buggy chassis is custom made. The real 91 is not as symetrical from side to side. Looks really Awsome!

Ok so feedback has confirmed the chassis is custom made.

Wondering if there are any recommendations for arms, hubs and drive-shafts. Maybe an option that is readily available?

Need these parts for the next steps...

Thanks,
Scott

The alum bell crank may be made by phoenix for the YR-4, non servo saver but you can using the common servo saver
Or made by other manufacture?not very sure、

Yes, arms and hubs, plus drive shafts always pop up on ebay from time to time. Right now is a good time for yokomo parts because there was recently a huge influx of nos parts and several sellers are making them available on ebay,, so prices are even somewhat down in a few cases.

Thanks for the info.

Was reading through a post that Dual made, and it appears that its possible to use Kyosho OT55 & Kyosho OT16 for front hubs and steering blocks. Not sure about rear hubs?

It appears most other parts are available on ebay.

My research for the origin of the hump backed chassis has sadly ended not knowing who made it. I can't find any pics or info that relates anywhere...
