I might need to approach this differently. Some how though I'm beginning to feel too "green" or "liberal" reminiscent of a Prius or Volt..."A battery with 4 tires and a nut job behind the wheel" Maybe I need to break out the nitro's
I could buy 2-2s standard packs with this configuration
This also gives more options. I swear associated knew someone was going to do this
Could always run stick packs or "shorty's" and have the sticks lay on their sides perpendicular to the chassis, and hang off the sides a tad. The shorty's would likely stay within the required space of chassis. Peak makes a nice 4000 mah 90c shorty pack that I really like. Lectron Pro makes a shorty that's 4600 mah and 100c, those are good too.
I'm not sure what the name for the packs you hare are, but they're shorter than "shorty's". I'd be more inclined to make a barrier, or brace, that holds larger batteries sideways. Larger batteries are cheaper, and easier to get.
You're right on the name, saddle packs is correct, I just couldn't think of what those were called.
I run shorty packs in my cars, which are about 2/3 the length of a regular pack. The saddles are about half the size of a stick pack.
Could make for easier placement/arrangement if you made some sort of bumper, holder, frame, that extended out to the sides. The very narrow width of your chassis is what's killing your options.
Hey all,
Have used a set of calipers to measure the battery box within about half a mil
134.5mm x 47mm x 24mm
1) Has anyone found any lipo packs that fit?
Prefer hardpack/ROAR approved, but they all seem to be too big?
Yeah Racing 4000mah LP0042...

In my Pro SE I took my Losi hinged battery bar/box out of the front and replaced it with a Velcro batter strap (i used the same coutnersunk screws and put a hole in the velcro strap then used a washer and a nut on each side, and now combined with...
I have a few older SCR type sub C packs that I would like to use in some shelfers, but they are showing signs of leakage. You know, crusty white junk around the shrink on the individual cells. Does anybody know what would work to either stop the...

Hello im building a RC10T2 and hoping to run lipo 7.4v stick pack and shorty battery's, has any one got some suggestions battery holder (photos) or a link to a previous discussion
Thanks veeza :-)
I am ready to jump to lipo since I need a new battery or two anyway.
not going brushless yet
hobbyking has great prices on stuff but I just don't completely understand all this stuff with lipo batteries except the balancing, the C number and the...

wow... well I ordered my first one and went with a 20C since it seemed like that was what most batteries were for the trucks/cars/buggies
I only ordered one to start, I usually don't have time to burn through two batteries in a session
As title says, would like to buy all of this but it doesn't have to be in one place. Ideally I would like to have stuff that is generally accepted as 'better than average' and I am willing to pay a premium to get it.

get yourself a lipo battery, lipos are the single best thing among the new stuff, no memory worries, just make sure you set the max charge on your charger and the voltage cutoff in your esc.
I've been looking for an old school Tekin 410K esc for a while now and finally found one. I just realized that all I have are lipo batteries. Is there anything I can buy, like something that would go between the esc and battery that would give me...

I run lipo's with all my old esc's. No problem! As long as you stop running as soon as you notice a voltage drop, you will be fine. I have never seen any of my packs under 6 volts. With lipo's 3 volts per cell is your lower voltage limit! 2 cell...
im in the market finally for a speed controller and Lipo Battery to complete one of my cars.. i settled for a tekin fx-pro, and now am trying to find a lipo battery

I highly advise balancing once a night while racing. These things are too expensive not to.
Only reason, I saw a $130 pack about 2 weeks old swell and crap out because of lack of balancing. Not an abused pack either. It was in the care of one of...

Very true about the comparison, but I guess I was speaking about the regions products as a whole. And I don't want to forget that the worst aspect of this incident is the loss of the crew- but I have had early gen soft case lipos that are still fine...
