Re: Ultima Greenhorn
On the left is the stock truck tower like yours with the buggy shock locations added to it. In the middle is my meatier 3.5" shock proposal. To the right is the braced version.
So...how do you feel about any of these? Changes? Here's a more melted version too...

Re: Ultima Greenhorn
I think the middle would be best, I'm not a fan of the bridge on top. It's a lot chunkier than stock Kyosho for sure

Well you've seen my xx ultima...DennisM wrote:Jeff - Yup exactly my thoughtsBlack it is.
Mr.ED - I was thinking about a SandMaster body, if it´s long enough.
Any suggestions?
Front shocks are only medium which is fully allowed according to VKR.
There´s a chance the strut might survive a crash if it was G10 and supported by a brace.
I'd have to check tbg for other ideas

I like the
Dennis.. My vote on body - Optima Mid Custom Special. Maybe a Green Alien Theme paint job.. I've always wanted to do a Mid Custom Special Body myself.

I´ve been looking at Your gallery again - Still amazed by the many cool builds
I think I´ll try and fit a TomCat - it´s to be found "local"

Re: Ultima Greenhorn
My gallery needs updating real badly
I have an unpainted tomcat for my lazer build. I'll test fit it on my ultima 2 and make you some pics.

Re: Ultima Greenhorn
Hey Dennis, here're some pics of the bodies I found fitting. (No use for pics of bodies that don't fit right;) )
Sorry for the horrible quality.
Excellent cut for the chassis with high nose which works well with the higher shocktower. Not quite as good a fit, but it works and is quite different as an alternative There's alwways this if nothing else works
Excellent cut for the chassis and covers the rear end completely

Re: Ultima Greenhorn
It's the x-cellerator body for the xx. But the stock xx fits just as good.
And they can be had for a good price from the uk.

Re: Ultima Greenhorn
I got me another xcelerator body from penguin this time. The lexan is a bit thinner than on the tbg version, but not problematically.DennisM wrote:I´ll order a cople - Many thanks
Be careful when you start cutting it: The original trimlines are too high at the bottom and at the rear tower.
