MIP SP-1 on a RC10 roller ...trade for a complete T4?
If this transmission along with new RPM arms was on a roller with no electronics and a decently scratched up A chassis (6.5 out of 10), with used suspension and tires/wheels; is it worth a trade for a RTR used 7/10 T4?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Re: MIP changebox
That's not a MIP Changebox...that's an SP-1. This is the Changebox: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=82&t=2825&view=previous
If you're looking for spares for an SP-1 you can use modern Tamiya SRB transmission parts. You'd need to mod the ball diff slightly. Just shorten and file new flat spots on the shafts the outdrives mount to.
If you've got a Changebox don't bother running it. The molded gears don't mesh well.

Re: MIP changebox
Great info thank you. I was worried I couldn't find parts for this if I end up trading for it. I'm not sure if the trade I'm considering is worth it...Phin wrote:That's not a MIP Changebox...that's an SP-1. This is the Changebox: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=82&t=2825&view=previous

Re: MIP changebox
It looks like a fairly complete trans. If there's any parts that need replacing it'll probably be the outdrive cups. No exact replacement for those.
Most of the cases I've had also had the mounting screw holes blown out by screws that were too long.

This post went from the pan to the fire. What I can tell is madman is asking whether he should trade his T4 that is worth about $100 for this RC10 pictured above.

The "what it's worth" question is taboo...but answering a concern about parts availability and clarifying which transmission is which is perfectly kosher.shodog wrote:This post went from the pan to the fire. The trade depends on what madman wants to do with the MIP transmission, and also on the condition of the rest of the RC10 and the T4.

I wasn't trying to ask what's it's worth im asking if you would trade it.
I decided against it, the thing is just too beat up for me. I would like to build a RC10. I don't have one.

Build this and have no qualms about it being a runner:

Re: MIP SP-1 on a RC10 roller ...trade for a complete T4?
I am trying to replicate the car I raced when I was younger, and it is quite hard to find an SP-1 intact from best I can tell. Also, I had a set of MIP (?) telescoping driveshafts that went along with it. Anyone happen to know the part# on those?
Also, +1 for the Re-re Worlds car, it is a steal at $199 if you ask me. We all should have stocked up during Christmas when A-Main dropped it to $150!
