What are the parts I should be looking for from a Supershot to put onto a Hotshot? Also, are the Thorp ball diffs the same as any other models? Found a Thorp ball diff for a blackfoot / frog / monster beetle on ebay.
My thorp book shows the complete diff for the hotshot is the same as frog/blackfoot. The difference would be the dogbone vs sliders that some for the frog series came with
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas Factory Works website
And while we're at it - what parts should I be looking for to do the shock conversion to a Supershot setup? What shocks will work / fit on it? Really like the silver bodied shocks on the RC Channel site but don't know what they are.

Thanks, that's awesome. I will go look for one now. Picked up the Hotshot re-re today at my LHS as I saw it there awhile back and sure enough, it was still there (probably a month ago).
Me - "hey honey look how cool this is!"
Wife - "Why do you need another car??"

Thanks Tamiyadan. This helps but now I have another question. I see that the underguard goes on the way I suspected but how the heck are you supposed to get the battery in and out once its on? Surely you don't have to remove the guard or the side battery holder thing every time?
I also wondered if I should put some CA glue on the tires and rims because I'm running a brushless setup. I really don't want to take the thing apart again to put in the ball diff but I'm thinking its going to be necessary with the power I'm putting down through the Castle motor.
Im planning to do an carbon hotshot.
I know i have an glassfiber chassis somewhere but cant find it.
If you have an chassis can you please pm me.
Want to have your chassis as an mold.

A while back,I built a BigWig,by buying every parts tree and screw bag I needed, until I had a complete kit in front of me.
That was fun. :D
I decided to do the same thing with a Supershot and here she is.
Even managed to find a brand new,correct...
Didnt know what to do with it ,being that it was semi disassembled and I had no clue where to start so I took it to a local hobby shop to see if they could get it up and running.
This is how it came...

Supershot has been re-released as the SuperHotshot in the year before last.
Hotshot & Boomerang were re-released before that so all the shared drivetrain parts
are still plentiful.
Decided to drag this out after 15 years and start on it again ( took my time planning it   ). Long story short, It started back in '96 when I was wandering the Englishtown swap meet looking for parts for a '70 Camaro when I came upon a...

My Super Shot is running a Quantum Competition 3. It has lipo cut out and has never failed me and Im running a 19turn Komodo Dragon motor. I have given this car absolute hell both on the track and in the hands of friends.
The QC3 is just about...
I'm getting my first modern runner in many years and am retiring some of the old ladies.
But before they get their well deserved shelf rest, I'm making sure they look their best... and this TCP needed a new dress desperately.
I planned to use the...

Thanks.
With a shorty lipo there's plenty room for the electronics ;)
The wheels are from the radicator: I found them better looking in combination with this body.
Looking at that early car it's funny to see how things are going full circle. This car was shaft drive. Then Kyosho came along with their chains and later the belt drives and that became the standard. Now AE is back to shaft drive again. From an...
