A first “leaked” teaser image of the expected Kyosho Turbo Scorpion re-release buggy has appeared on the internet. Following the re-release of the 1980’s Tomahawk, Scorpion and Beetle kits, the former top-of-the-foodchain Turbo Scorpion would be a sensible next step in the company’s re-release schedule. The somewhat blurry image shows a buggy with brushless motor and what appear to be modern 2.2″ rims and tyres, showing the release might target the growing interest in vintage racing. We bring you more information on the possible release as soon as they become available.

If Kyosho rereleases all cars based on the Scorpion chassis, would that mean they'll do the same with the Optima and we can expect a Javelin, Turbo Optima, Salute, and Optima Pro?
Now we're talking. So glad I held off on the Beetle, Scorpion, Toma. This is THE one I find sexy

Ugh. Isnt the whole scorpion platform being beaten to death? I guess it makes sense for marketing, but how are they going to make it legit? Possibly ball diff? Long stroke shocks? The 2.2 wheels are a good start, but do those really fix the bad handling of that platform in general?
It's only brushless when you put a brushless in it...
I'll defo pick one up. Then I'll slap on some proper 1.5" from an optima, and we have a shelf-winner. No need to run the darn thing, we all know it's so anti-climactic to run anyway. Like an SRB.
But in box art fashion, with the KC's and all, damn it looks sexy...
Thanks Kyosho!

I heard they were gonna be a limited kit, I was umming and arring about getting one and decided today that I would, hoping they wouldn't be all sold by now. I bought the cheapest one I could find on ebay this morning, $349AU and free postage.

I built a Turbo Scorpion this year, it was started in february, and I took about few weeks to finish it. There won't be as much details as my other build threads as I did not documented all the steps with proper pictures.
It started with a...

Awesome thread. I’ll be referencing this thread when I build mine. Not looking forward to the painting though
I like the look of the 7th gen turbo scorpion body, but want a gas powered one. Would it fit the assault or advance or would I need to make modifications? I just purchased the Advance on ebay and it's like new.

Yes, I purchased that one, but I will leave that one original. I purchased another Advance or Assault off ebay without the engine and body, it was advertised as Kyosho Buggy with no other info, but I am sure it's an assault. I have also been...
I'm thinking that with the extra grunt that I'm going to be putting through my Turbo Scorpion drivetrain, I should look at putting the old gears in a bag and finding replacements of the same pitch or maybe even replacing with a different...
