Re: Vintage Motors
Very nice indeed.
I think they are the holy grail of r/c motors no doubt.
I bought Big Jim's motor black book. A very interesting read.

Re: Vintage Motors
Unfortunately I can't find any of the stock motor. They were hand made by a guy out in Michigan back in the day.tiger1 wrote:black magic motor? Any photo?
This is one of their modified motors

The stock model was a silver can, instead of the black you see and the decal, which mirrored the black inside the gold label, was actually vinyl lettering applied directly onto the silver can.

Re: Vintage Motors
As far as colors, these are what I have/had, to initiate comparison and hopefully other members with these motors can check what they have:V12 wrote:What´s the difference between those Checkpoint motors? Means the blue sticker a different winding than the black or silver sticker and what´s about the motors without stickers?
And what´s the difference between Platinum I and Platinum II motors?
Blue - 14T
Gunmetal (?) - 17T (i have 2 of these and they are both the same winding)
Silver - 19T (if I remember correctly, i traded it off)
Pics to come later.

Re: Vintage Motors
Okay, colors might not be indication of their windings. This one is blue, and is a 10T according to the seller..
