Need help with graphite chassis identification
Picked up this RC10 in a trade. Andy's front arms, litesink motor mount, aluminum bellcranks, etc. Can't identify this chassis though. It's laminated with black on each side with a tan colored material in the middle. I have 3 other gold pans but no graphite chassis versions so figured this would look great on the shelf with them after a little clean up work, but it would be nice to know the origin / maker of the chassis. Appreciate any help I can get on this.

Re: Need help with graphite chassis identification
Never heard of it. Thanks for the info. It will help me narrow down the possibles. So the tan layers are some kind of foam? What are the outside black layers? Gaphite, fiberglass, or what?

carbon fiber/graphite, whatever you prefer to call it. you can verify with an ohm-meter,if you press the test leads against the end fibers, you should see relatively low resistance.

Re: Need help with graphite chassis identification
My memory is a little fuzzy but my first graphite chassis as a kid looked exactly like this and was from CompositeCraft. I remember I wanted a 100% graphite chassis but my parents bought this one because it was cheaper. BTW, it doesn't drill well, especially with a hand drill

Re: Need help with graphite chassis identification
+1 composite craft.
These are the very first graphite chassis that I ever saw, around late 1986.
Back then we called graphite to the plain TQ style chassis. The other stuff with the visible weave we called carbon fibre...
To this day I have no idea what the difference is.

Re: Need help with graphite chassis identification
Just did a search for that "Lightweight RC10" article because I remembered the build used a foam core chassis and wanted to confirm what brand it was. It was a Composite Craft.
Good chance that Raceco and CC repackaged and sold the same chassis, like Trinity, Parma and CC did, so both answers are likely right.

Thanks guys. Finding some of this info is hard to do. Nice to have some people that actually remember this stuff. This will make a nice addition to my collection. Thanks for all the help.
