I've had quite a few brands, mostly RC10s and variants thereof, and I enjoyed a few earlier Tamiya and Losi cars. Every now and then I'd buy something different like a Kyosho just out of boredom but I would always return to tinkering with RC10s.
That said, if I had to go buy a modern 2WD buggy for whatever reason, more than likely it would be an RC10xx. I'm all for changing up brands of tires and electronics and whatnot but I'd still reach for the AE buggy on the shelf.
I haven't owned a Chevy in 20 years but I still consider myself a Chevy guy.
My tendencies have leaned towards Associated and Airtronics (now Sanwa). Been using this combo since the late 80's.
I've also owned some other vehicles, but generally stick with Associated. Same with radios, I've owned others, but always fall back to Airtronics. I tend to stay with brand names for esc's, servos, and motors. Lately it's been Hobbywing, Reedy, Savox and Castle.
Batteries, not so much. I've had great results with batteries like Vant, and had a lot of problems with ProTek and Turnigy. Venom has been good to me. But for the most part, I've found that brand name batteries are no better than the cheapies, and in my personal case they've been worse.
