It may be simple but it's very effective , I brush painted mine with acrylic paint , it gave it a bit of texture .
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Unfortunately, the astro flight motor's brush housing will not clear my front mounted servo arm. I installed the dynamite 35t that came in my ascender just to see the difference and it was marginally better. They have some Integy crawler motors in the shop of the track I race at for pretty reasonable prices, so next race day, I'll probably pick one up.
I also ordered new tires today. Different ones than Dadio's. I'll keep you in suspense until they arrive.

Hmm, let me guess... Are they Proline Trenchers?

I have no idea how soft they are, but they were the right size at the right price. I really like the tread pattern. I thought they resembled the Pitbull tires.

Nice tread pattern and plenty of side wall grip too , exactly the same size as the ones I'm running , they will rub like hell until you fit the front wheel spacers or have no steering lock .

Yeah, the name brand tires can be ridiculously overpriced.
Those are some nice looking tires Basher, I'd bet they'll be fine. I just got a set of cheap no-name Chinese 1.9's for the Blazer and they're soft as butter. Only 19 bucks for a full set. They came with inserts and wheels (not glued) that I won't be using.

Hard to beat a deal like that. Has anyone come up with anything for a driver? I thought about ordering a bruiser driver. The big advantage is you know it will fit and already has a mounting tab in the right spot. RC4wd makes some great looking drivers but the cost is excessive for a little doll (ahem, I mean action figure), and I've already seen too many WWE wrestlers and marvel comic hero stuffed into crawlers, although spiderman was a consideration  One of the guys at my local racetrack has a Wild Willy with a mx helmet in his 1/8 rock racer and it looks fantastic. He got it from shapeways.

Yup, lots of options out there for a driver. I got the standard plastic bruiser driver from RC4WD cause it's cheap and it'l fit the seat. Downside is that it requires paint but you can customize to suit your truck's theme. I've seen some amazing, hyper-real, painted drivers. I've seen one over at TamiyaBase (i think) that was incredible but I can't seem to find it now.

I think that's probably the route I'll go as well. They are light, cheap and I enjoy painting them. Maybe I'll just look for a different head for it. Now that my light kit is installed, it's a pita getting the interior out around all the wiring. I want to paint the interior and mount the driver all at once.

I have a Scooby coming as well , if he fits he's going in as well or maybe in the back , we have 4 dogs so it needs a dog as far as I'm concerned

One of our members here is using a Xbox 360 scanner to scan so he can 3d print himself as a driver. Might open up some thoughts in case you hadn’t considered it
