Polaris alloys
I have been lucky enough to pick up 3 sets of unused Polaris alloys in the last few days, and very nice they are too
I much prefer running alloys than plastic rims, you just can't beat the way they look i don't think.
There are a few styles here that i haven't seen before, apart from in period adverts. What is slightly odd is that the set with the angled spokes all lean the same way (i.e. on one side of the car they will be angled forward, on the other, backward), and that is how they arrived in the packets. I have been told that is how they were all made so they weren't 'sided' as such. Will still look epic, as you will only really ever see one side at a time i suppose. All 3 sets are hex fitting.
Never seen these new-in-packet before anyway.
LUSH!!

Re: Polaris alloys
Living here in the states, when I see "Polaris" I immediately think of snowmobiles and ATV's.
I was not aware that there was a Polaris that made RC wheels. Anyway, that's a really nice collection -- thanks for sharing.
BTW, if you hadn't mentioned the spoke direction issue, I probably wouldn't have noticed it.
Hey Nomad, I'd bet you could turn a nice set of wheels on your lathe.

Re: Polaris alloys
Well i guess that explains what i see whenever i search for Polaris wheels on eBay(!) Lots of quad bike wheels pop up....!
I only really recall the gold Polaris rims in the advert from bitd, as i saw them quite a bit on mainly Tamiya fitment cars. So much so that I spent quite a bit of time hunting down a new gold set a few years back to go onto my Pb Maxima, so with these new ones now I am gathering a little collection of them.

Re: Polaris alloys
Very nice score there. I like those simple 5-spoke wheels. I agree with you on the look of polished aluminum wheels...I"ll take that look over any kind of colored plastic anyday!
