What steering block is this?

Post by SOS »

Hey guys. Just wondering if anyone can identify the steering block I have. I know the black one is Associated 6216 but what is the white one? I can't find it online anywhere. The white one is what originally came with my car. Anyone know where to get new ones? I'll be using the 6216 for now but want to replace the old ones also. Thanks in advance!

6217 inline block and 6218 inline axle. They were used on all the long arm cars, but evolved into the aluminum inline set 6220 and 6221 later on. The black one you have was used for the short arm cars- but was dyed as they never came in black

Interesting! I have a set of those on my sprint car. For some reason, I'd always assumed they came from the 10L. Now I know the truth. Thanks!!

Thanks! Since I have a short arm car, I guess I've had the wrong blocks this whole time. I looked up 6217 though and the block does not look the same as my old one. Did they change the mold at one point? 6217 has a round block and mine are square.

The ones on eBay are mismarked. See attached pics. 6221 and 6225 are the same, but 6225 are rerelease.
