After spending too much time on this website again, I have decided to replicate one of my favorite RC cars ever, my 2010 Old Is New RC10.
I was planning on going all new on this, but the cost would be ridiculous, so off to fin a suitable donor RC10T....I piled up the family in the minivan, drove 2 hours from CT to Mass, and this is what I came back with.....and then more

Life is short. Waste it wisely.
A bit of progress:
I might go for the carbon 10T towers and big bore shocks....still awaiting B4 CVDs, turnbuckles, diff rebuild kit, steering bellcranks, and off course electronics....

I'd get new towers and not run the truck towers, Standard buggy in rear is fine, and an RPM version up front. That will reverse the shock positions, more upright up front and less upright out back. as it sits the progressive rates are 'off'
Jeff (factory works) makes some sweet towers, you can get one that uses the built in wing mounts in the rear instead of wires. I can't keep wings on my buggies
Before anyone asks why, COVID, BOREDOM, LACK OF AVAILABILITY, WHY NOT
Used a set of Traxxas spindles and axles on the RC10, which accept 5x10 bearings and fitted some Tamiya wheels, for the rear, 8.5mm hex adapter and Tamiya wheels, voila, increased my wheel availability by 200 million %....

Since I’m a restless RC person, I like to experiment, someone suggested the Custom Works front hex conversion, I ordered A set, mounted it, and it works awesome, the only thing is, you’d either have to use a long shank rod end, or use a shorter ball stud on the inner most hole on top of the caster block....simple

IT WORKS!!!

Also, I ordered a Medium Length CVD Kit from Custom Works, and with the GT hubs, it wouldn’t get full up travel, sufficient, but not complete, because it would hit the inside if the outdrives, so I ordered B4 hubs, and used some creative spacing, and it also works fine, full up and down travel

Being a big fan of the Losi XX, I was never really into the RC10 buggy, until you guys made a fan out of me with some sweet RC10 (Old is New) buggy builds, I had to have my own copy of those cars. After some research, and bugging some of you guys on...

crap freddy, after seeing all the builds and then this one i need to get my but i gear and get a rc10 going.
the jrx2 purchase put the rc10 build on the back burner for a while, although i did just bid on a graphite chassis for the rc10.
My 2020 VONATs runners are almost ready for this years race. Still working on a RC10T as well. Plan on switching up between rounds and running the funnest ones to drive.
I think there should be a class for this generation of buggies. Sure they are not Classic or Vintage aged. But they are discontinued, designed for Nicd/Nimh and brushed motors, and are certainly a generation apart from current stuff. It would...

Something would have to give in the program. The weekend is already quite packed.
Hello all,
For those who don't know, I got my first (and so far only) Rc10 as a short arm off eBay in early 2012. First I joined this forum and got it working, gradually fixing and upgrading it as I went. Then I learned about Vonats, got the car...

I know it's not a great motor, it was part of a big motor lot from Rccars4all. I'll probably put in a Trinity Chameleon next.
I modeled my Vintage RC10 as I had it apart for a restoration. After spending that much time and money getting it back to new(ish) condition I don't want to run it. I'm sure there are a lot of people that would...

So maybe it’s time for Associated to put that beauty out! Royalties to you for such a nice job. I’d have one.
Ok so seeing all the VONATS builds i want to start building for the 2012 race lol, Yeah it will take that long to build and learn how to race lol, I have never raced RC before but it looks like a blast.
I have a few questions before i start...

I personally use the 20 deg b4 blocks most of the time, the more caster you add the faster the inital turn in is, but the car is very tight off of the corners. On a very high speed track ( not RCHR ) more is generally better-but there are lots of...
The Heavy Metal Lunchbox thread got me motivated to freshen up my LB with some upgrades.
These are some pics of the CRP front end conversion kit that I just recently installed(much better photos than the ones I previously posted). The kit is made...
