Here's a very poor video just really to show it works and the speed of it .

If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Looks perfect speed-wise.... it's a scale model after all, not a race truckDadio wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 11:18 am Here's a very poor video just really to show it works and the speed of it .

Great work, Dadio. The level of detail and scale realism is to be applauded.

It looks pretty darn good to me. Plenty fast for a tracked vehicle.Dadio wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 11:18 am Here's a very poor video just really to show it works and the speed of it .

I'm still amazed that this was once just spools of plastic wire. You sir are a genius.

Hah, I run mine with pride!! I also do like to watch from the bushes though... Looks killer! Bell does seem to be a bit critical of your work in one photo though. Thanks people , I think the speed is just right for what it is , as for hiding , no I don't , I'm a 51 year old bald , fat guy and I do WW2 reenactment , when I'm in my British uniform I look like captain Mainwaring from dads army
! So being seen with an RC car is nothing !

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
I can't really explain it either, but I feel the same way. Something to do with a funny looking, bearded guy playing with toy cars in public, maybe. I don't run and hide, but I usually pretend to be occupied by something else as to avoid any eye contact.
Back to the topic, I agree that this is an amazing build and the results are very impressive. I'd still vote for it.

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
Well, since we've already wandered off-topic...
I guess I come at this from a different angle. If I'm running a buggy around the front yard or on the driveway where all the neighbors can see or if I'm running a touring car on the church parking lot that's adjacent to a busy city street, a part of me is hoping someone will stop and strike up a conversation. I really want to promote the hobby as much as possible and hopefully to develop a local community of RC enthusiasts.
On a few occasions, I've had neighbors stop by when I've been running on the back yard track. They always seem interested but so far not interested enough to take up the hobby themselves. Maybe someday.
It's easy to see from the countless youtube videos that many (or most) who live in developed areas in the world have had some experience with RC's - especially if they have kids. There's no reason to hide or be embarrassed; everyone knows that driving an RC car is about having fun.
Perhaps every possession we have that's not essential for life can be labeled a "toy". Typically, it's a toy when we're a kid and a hobby when we move into adulthood. I tend to think of my Mustang GT, vintage motorcycle collect and RC's in the same way; they are simply recreational vehicles and nothing to be ashamed of.

I'm not embarrassed at all but there's always this...
"Can I drive it?"

"Can I drive it?"

Exactly right.... usually an 8-year old boy, snotty nose and sticky fingers, who comes up and says "Can I have a go?"....THEYTOOKMYTHUMB wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 7:47 pm I'm not embarrassed at all but there's always this...

Often with a parent in tow, who gives you the "come on, it's only a toy, give the kid a go, what's wrong with you?" look.....
But then, I'm not a fan of people...
