Re: Optima Pro
Absolutely stunning Derek! Very nice indeed! Oh, and thank you for formatting the pic in letterbox so it opens almost full screen.
This begs the question; why don't modern RC buggies look this good?
I have another question, how are you at white-lettering tires?

Re: Optima Pro
The Optima Pro is such a nice, sleek design. I acquired a used, painted Pro body years ago but never had the appropriate chassis for it, it's nice to see how it looks built up.

Re: Optima Pro
Thanks everyone....the only difference between an Optima and the Pro is the radio plate, body and under tray. The radio plate is specific to this model as it moves the steering servo to the back and moves battery forward a bit. I know in the 1st part of this thread i was gonna use a 240s, but it just didn't run right even after a comm cut and rebuild so we scored this "Insane" by chance a few weeks ago, did a resto and rebuild on it and it rips. Hopefully when "the diamond one" enters it in BOTM it will fair better than the Salute did, or else i will blame politics He probably will letter the tires at some point, not sure yet. I tinted the windows, they look black in the pic but arent, i used tamiya smoke and the are still very transparent in person

Re: Optima Pro
What I've found when tinting windows is, what looks perfect while you're holding the body and looking in the windows, ends up being too dark once you mount the body on the chassis. I think it's happened to me every time I've tinted windows.

Re: Optima Pro
Nice build Derek, I'll have to check here more often, been a bit slack lately. What screw kit did you end up using?

Re: Optima Pro
That car came out looking fresh out of the box! Well done and nice paint job. The body is the cherry on top!
