I found it!!!

Post by Neilio »

Hi I’m neil a new member , recently I happened upon a pic of the re re turbo optima , and my childhood flooded back to me !!!

So I’ve been on a hunt to my find my 4 old rc cars ( I had an original ultima but I don’t know what became of that …

So tonight determined to find them I did !

My marui big bear , a tamiya Blackfoot ( I never ran it someone gave it me )

My complete jrx2 . I knew for a fact I had these three still but then sitting right next to my jrx2 was my original turbo optima mid se ( silver wheels platinum shocks , omg!!!) it’s missing a dog bone in the rear one the front shocks doesn’t compress , I have some weird polycarbonate type of chassis , but the diffs work and it’s almost all there !!! No body but the electronics are still with it (Novak , some team losi or reedy motor , I’m not as I can’t see the label on the can … I’m so stoked , I was pretty sure I had the optima mid se because I remember the silver wheels , but it’s been literally 30 years since I’ve run it …

So stoked !!!! Will post pics later , it’s midnight night now …

It's great when you find your stash of vintage RC stuff, because all too often, that invaluable stuff gets trashed instead.

Looking forward to the Big Bear and Kyosho cars, the Big Bear was actually the first RC monster truck. 8)

Believe it or not the big bear was my favorite rc car , I have still , a trinity 40k motor in it , was super fast and nearly indestructible…

The optima and ultima were kinda precious and broke a lot , the ultima mainly , with the chassis that bent when the manual speed controller would get stuck at full speed … sigh …

Can't help ya with how to posts pics from your phone, as I'm only on here when at my laptop, but hope ya get it figured out.

I was lucky enough to locate and order a re-re Turbo Optima Gold yesterday thru my local hobby shop. While I was impatiently waiting for a call back from the hobby shop while they were attempting to source one for me, I called Kyosho America and they said all Turbo Optimas were already "called for" and currently being shipped to distributors. Then the hobby shop calls back and tells me they contacted Kyosho or a distributor or whoever, and they were able to get me the "last one available". Now I anxiously await for the phone call of its arrival at the hobby shop.
