I have one problem I'm not sure how to solve , the 834b's front suspension arms are uncompromisingly flat , I'd really like to tip the front bulkhead up at the nose like more modern buggy's , now if I stick with a kydex chassis it's easy to do but I'd really like an FRP chassis , either CF of fibre glass , is it possible to put a bend in these materials ? The other option would be to print the bulkhead with an angled chassis mount but I'm not too sure if that's going to be a great idea .

Can’t bend the materials, they would need to be laid up with the kickup. You could have Jerry Hellstrom (Jerzi) lay up a custom chassis, he is good with the one-off stuff

You could do aluminum quite easily, and when anodized black they look great.

The other thing you could do is cut the chassis where the bend would be and make the bulkhead bolt to it flat- hard to describe but essentially what they did on the trx3 and rustler. No kickup on the plate makes it much cheaper

Thanks Jeff that's what I thought , came to the same conclusion too about keeping the chassis flat and tilting the mounting , this is what I have so far , kind of hard to get a clear idea from screen captures , even if your familiar with the 834b then this is going to look strange anyway as its so far diverged from the original ..

the forward holes in the underside would be for a kydex bumper

New tilted bulkhead printed , also did a chain guide/top deck to match the 7° tilt , going to have to revise the bulkhead slightly as the chain will foul on the upper arms slightly , just got to move the pivot points 2mm outwards , no bad thing really as it brings them closer in line with the lower arms . Seen as an assembly it's easier to see the 7° tilt , also starting to look like a whole car , going to have to start thinking about a chassis plate , thinking about its shape I'm really tempted to keep it as original looking as possible to keep some DNA but I'm also thinking maybe something more updated with asymmetric cell cut outs rather than a battery tray , but skint this month and it's going to have to wait till next month so plenty of time to think anyway.

Transmission fully installed , if I had the beans for paint and fibreglass it would be finished , I hate being inpatient and skint , it's a bad mix .

Hit me up with a file for the chassis and it’s in the mail in the morning. 8)

Steering is YZ10 that's been repurposed , it's virtually exactly the same design just natural not yellow , original wheels that are well used but scrub up well and the tires I have no clue who made them but they looked nice and were a good price . Kind of looks more like a Coyote than a Rocky now  . Shock towers are just printed place fillers .

Thanks , if you want to see the whole thing search up Yo-Clone-Oh , it's as much about me learning CAD and 3d printing as it is about cloning the Yokomo Dogfighter YZ-834b .
