Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)
Not from today but a couple of weeks ago we had the largest annual car show- week held in Nz called beach hop. Entries are limit to 1100 cars but over 5000 more turn up in a small beach town for 6 days of cruises and shows at different places over the coromandel peninsula.
The Saturday is the big parade where the 1100 entries do the show n shine. here’s a couple of pics of the crowd as you go down the main street
This guys always a favourite with the kids

I’ve always thought the rust hole thing was odd.. Are they more worried about the vehicle being unsightly or structurally sound? Around here, there aren’t any vehicle or emission testing, which is good for us hot rodders and you see some interesting things!Dadio wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 5:44 pmOver here that would have been off the road illegal , not from the crash damage but the rusted out sills would have failed it's annual MOT (ministry of transport) test , a safety inspection all cars must pass to be roadworthy .BattleTrak wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 11:15 am I saw this fine ride yesterday… the tire marks really did it for me.

It's about safety so a rust hole is not structurally sound , if it's a hole in the front bumper (fender ?) Or anything jagged the risk is that if you run down a pedestrian then it might cut them open , that always seemed like the least of their worries. It's a very weird test , they have a special tool for tapping for rust , like a little hammer with a handle like a screwdriver for poking , they cannot look under plastic trims or remove anything from the car , they test the efficiency of breaks but you only needs pads the thickness of a postage stamp and the results of the inspection do not in any way form a guarantee of safety for a year only the condition during the test , it's taken very seriously Dodgy garages doing dodgy MOT's don't want to get caught . From the garages point of view it's a fishing trip .BattleTrak wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 11:21 pmI’ve always thought the rust hole thing was odd.. If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Probably related to this bunch.
And yes, they used the floor jack in place of the tire to load the truck on the trailer.
At first, I thought they were just changing the tire (on the ground). By the time I got my phone out of the truck, they were at this point.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

This was a “prank” I did to a coworker. Really just to get a WTF reaction out of him. He just drove off the blocks and called me laughing.
The Jack to mobilize a vehicle is 100% something I have done. My mother broke a tie rod end, broke the lower ball joint when the wheel flopped, and I used a friendly neighbors jack to get the car up and get it out of the middle of the road.

Crazy skies but no rain which is just fine for racing. Side note, the Crown Vic has taillights cause he drives it to the track and back home

Also good for moving the drag car around in the garage. I just lift it by the pumpkin.

You aren't supposed to sit on the red, as it's the isle. Serves him right

Had to go check on the falls today, they turned the water on a little early. Sure do love this place! I'm gonna end up buying a Mavic Mini at some point.
