I just discovered something in Cura that's solved a gear printing problem I came up against , I was trying to print a low tooth count 0.8 mod gear and when I sliced it it was in a lot of places just printing the outer wall and leaving the tooth virtually hollow like a vase print .

I tried a ton of things to resolve the problem until I stumbled on this , you can in Cura adjust the outer wall line width , I've used this function on vase prints (a vase print is only one wall thick and mostly used for printing light weight vases ) to make them stronger and water proof by making the wall wider , in this case I went the other way and instead of a 0.4 mm wall width I went for 0.3 mm and it worked perfectly .

I think I may have invented something useful for a change !

Drew up and printed the reduction gear , it's to replace a gear in the Ishipla Monster that runs on a bushing that has no equivalent bearing so this one can take two 6x3x3 flanged bearings

I just found another part that had poor wall quality with 0.4 outer wall so I tried 0.3 and its perfect again
this is an RC10 caster block and you can see a dip in the wall at 0.4 mm wall

now with the 0.3 mm wall .

Two days ago I received a Bambu Labs P1P , the following day an upgrade package of parts to run abrasive filaments , jumbo cooling fan and a fan for the control board as I intend to make an enclosure for it , anyway I just finished fitting all the kit of parts and I've run a few prints , man oh man this thing is good ! its one thing to read reviews or watch them on YouTube but to actually see it is another thing , once I have it enclosed I can't see me using my other printers ever again ! its producing better prints at three times or more the speed , it doesn't look real watching it

Printed this Ishipla Monster chassis today but being a dumb ass I printed the wrong file , now waiting another 4 hours for the proper version to print lol , super impressed with the quality especially the ironing feature that gives a smoothed finish to flat top surfaces.

I've not played with ironing yet, as most of my prints until now were not requiring it, and most often than not having curved top : and for this adaptative layers gives very nice results...

I've done ironing before on my Creality printers and Cura but the Bambu Lab just does it better , it's shiny

Just finished and fitted the Ishipla Monster chassis , I was not planning on using it but it feels so much stronger than the beaten up original that I think I will , maybe later I'll get one Pro printed.

Started designing a complete car today , object is to make an indestructible 3d printed car out of mostly TPU .
It's to have a minimum of parts , here i have the front suspension printed in only 5 parts .
It uses live pivot joints like I think it was the Kyosho Icarus ?
