So, what did you do RC today?

When it's R/C related, but doesn't fit anyplace else.

Monogram (Bandai) Mad Wolf
Very interesting kit. If I didn't hate resizing all my pics I'd start a thread.

That is really cool. Never heard of it. The chain drive is very interesting.

I've spent the last few days fiddling with this Sassy Chassis RC10. Whitening some parts, re-dying others, and generally getting it fitted together.

I need to measure and order the turnbuckles and decide which shock towers I want Jeff to make for it.

Pardon my ignorance, but is there a top plate for this chassis? With no side skirts and no nose tubes, it would seem to be a bit flexy.

Not that I'm aware of. But the one-piece design doesn't seem as flexible as you might think.

It is wider than a standard chassis behind the noise. Even wider than my Composite Craft chassis.

Regardless, it won't be a runner. While all functional, most of my RC10's stay on the shelf.

Gotta remember too that back when sassy chassis were made we didn't have wall rides and triples to clear. Tracks were much more mellow. The sassy was pretty thick too, around 1/8" iirc

Perhaps I gave AE too much credit  I assumed they ran a tub and braced the nose out of necessity. Maybe the sides of the tub were just to keep dirt out vs adding strength.

The tub was also quite a bit thinner material. The tub was strong but not invincible. They bent a lot- both nose brace tubes and chassis. If I had to choose between a flat plate chassis that was thicker and a thinner braced chassis I'd probably have to consider its usage. As a basher I'd like the flat plate.

I measured 0.063" on an AE tub and 0.087" on the Sassy Chassis.

Getting close to complete on these M-chassis rebuilds.... four M03s and an M04.

Just got to mount all the electronics, paint and cut out a few bodies, and then they're done. The Mad Max brushless M03 is for my shelf / possible racing, and the rest will probably be moved on, to create some space in my limited working area for building M05s.... and my next Vintage Bash race truck  .

Took the day off, so headed out this morning to my ex-hobby shop owner hook up, and picked up a few things. It ended up being AE spare parts and random body day! Couple of Bolinks, a few Dahm's, three AEs, and even a A&L snuck in there. Ended up with absolutely nothing I was hoping to find, but with plenty I will use. I don't even know what the Dahm's and A&L are yet, but for the prices he was given, I was buying.
