Re: The Infamous Idler
I don’t like the idea of passing the buck to the diff. I could put a metal diff in too, but I think that sends the weak link to the top shaft or the trans case itself right?

Fan R/C is reproducing the re-re Words transmission, which uses a B4 idle gear. They should have them as well.

I dont think id be trying to use a 26t idler in place of a 28t idler, it would be pretty loose!juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 11:36 am Fan R/C is reproducing the re-re Words transmission, which uses a B4 idle gear. They should have them as well.

Re: The Infamous Idler
My bad. I thought that the re-re's actually used the then current B4 idle gear.GoMachV wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 1:16 pmI dont think id be trying to use a 26t idler in place of a 28t idler, it would be pretty loose!juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 11:36 am Fan R/C is reproducing the re-re Words transmission, which uses a B4 idle gear. Re: The Infamous Idler
It’s a t4 trans so the b4 idler should work. I had one (9360) in my stash, and got it fixed. Just worried about killing this one and being SOL.

Re: The Infamous Idler
Check the tooth profile on the aluminum top shaft, if it's worn it will keep eating your idlers.
