Well the painting is done , I try'd the Sidewinder body with a Bobcat box art , its the most ambitious paint job I've done and it was mostly successful , i had a little paint bleed past the masking tape and one of the paints wrinkled/reacted with one of the other's , not badly but it was very annoying , i painted a metallic silver brush paint for the roll bars up the front window edges and along the roof , i did it a day earlier than the other paints and it was fully dry before i started the rest of the painting , it was fine as i over sprayed it with Tamiya black polycarb paint , it was fine when it got over sprayed with Tamiya metallic gun metal grey paint , it was fine when i over sprayed with Tamiya dark green paint but when i finished off with the final coats of Tamiya white paint it decided to wrinkle up and the white seeped under , its not too bad but Grrrrrr !!!! i almost developed a facial tic !
I got despondent after that and just went very conservative with the Bobcat getting a very plain white body , i'll do some window detail later when i can raise the enthusiasm .
I had ordered a replica decal sheet and i was a bit disappointed that it has not got the stickers that are in the box art for the Sidewinder ! they look good but either have some missing or are incorrect.anyway here are the pictures.
Ayk Sidewinder and Bobcat Restoration.

Re: Ayk Sidewinder and Bobcat Restoration.
Hi,
thanks for the nice pics.
I had also a Sidewinder in the past. Looking now for a Sidewinder but not so easy to get one. Have now some parts and a AYK Motor, and Controller from this I was used in the past, a Schroff and Ritzer Speedway Buggy Controller from Munich like CS electronic.....
