BLACK TAPE??? SHARPIE MARKER???

Boy I am glad I did not read this last night. I would have had nightmares for sure
He's an idiot. Comes from upbringing. His parents are probably idiots too.

Any port in a storm, chief.

Now, who makes orangish gold tape...?

:P

I was initially on the receiving end of the 'lectric tape "repair" a long time ago, I did not pioneer the technique...

Back to the CE chassis subject...

Here's a late six-gear:

http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-ASSOCIATED-RC10-GOLD-PAN-TUB-CHAMPION-EDITION_W0QQitemZ130165917399

Notice it also has black plastic shock caps and a four on a side front tower. Seller claims B over A chassis. Can't tell about the motor plate. Last of the six gears there for sure...

i'll just double post this. i'm too lazy to type.
scr8p wrote:well, one nice thing about this is the main chassis/suspension stuff is figured out already. it's just a matter of which shocks, trans, and tire/rim combo you want to go with. this one, like my other andy's molded chassis w/ the standard kick-up, i'm gonna use the mip shock bodies. the thing that sucks is now i need 8 black aluminum shock caps instead of 4. it'll most likely have a stock 6 gear trans, too, since i don't have any more mip's. and i don't want to drill the chassis for a stealth. i'll use the trailing arm setup on it, also, with the tall rear tower. on the front, i'm going to use a tall molded andy's tower i have instead of the one that came with the kit. that way, i can use the 1.02 shocks on the front. i like the tall shocks on the front.

but, neither of the andy's molded cars i have will be done until i can get those shock caps. if i have to, i'll strip an polish some blue ft caps. but, i only want to build them once.

since i'll end up using the 6 gear trans, i'd like to put the thorp 48p coversion in it, but i still need the 2 small topshaft gears for the diff. i'm also pretty much giving up on finding 8 black aluminum shock caps for this car and the other one. hell, i can't even find one. i'll just polish up some blue ft caps and be done with it. i like the way the shocks look on my A&L, so i'll just go that route.

That looks great J, glad I could have been of help. I can not wait to see how it works out. I have a TPS chain tranny that might look good on there!

i'm also building a pro graphite version of this same car, too. this one will use .71's in the front, though. and since the andy's steering racks are so hard to find, i drilled and countersunk new holes for a standard bell crank, as well as the holes for a stealth trans.

Did this ever get finished? I see USPS Priority tape on the box. Did the seller just slap a shipping label on the box and send it?

It was sold with all of my other Andy's builds back in 2008 when all my health crap started. Never finished it.

It was shipped to me in a separate box. But it had changed hands a few time, and the address labels stuck to the back of the kit box. Like 3... 1 on top of another, and apparently shipped priority at least once.
