Just like they did with the Dirt Master/RB5 now they are bringing back the ZX5 as a Lazer SB Dirt Cross. The wheels bother me a little, the rest- I like it.

Re: kyosho ZX5 is back- sort of
I was asleep through the Lazer years so I missed this one.
Early reports say that pricing will be reasonable so I'm considering adding this one to the collection.
Actually, it would probably go onto the stack of unbuilt kits but whatever.

The wheels are still better than plain old dished wheels at least. Personally would have like a more spoked design.
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

they are trying for a retro look, and while its not my favorite at least it isnt that cab forward nonsense. The OG zx5 body was pretty bad ass imo

How could you not like the body? It's a "New modern vintage body with driver figure"....
Modern vintage....
You're selling what now?

The wheels look like they will suit a rallycross car more than a buggy.... which would also fix the concerns of those who dislike the body. Win win for us rally guys!
Bring it on, I say!

Re: kyosho ZX5 is back- sort of
I agree cab forward sux ass but man they could have done something so much better, kyosho used to do some of the best bodies out there. Had to laugh I was over at the Nz kyosho importer this morning and we were looking at his triumph and zx-5s while I was there thinking why didn’t they use the zx5 body with a driver figure or something like a optima pro

Re: kyosho ZX5 is back- sort of
I agree about the wheels but the body doesn't bother me that much. With some aftermarket wheels and a few carbon bits it should look pretty nice. But, like Doug mentions, mine will likely sit on the pile of unbuilt kits
Also, let's not start a cab forward thread again, lol, lest we forget all the "vintage" cab forward bodies of the '80s/'90s...

Yeah, the kit body looks okay.
But WOW, now that I'm seeing OG ZX5 body for the first time, I like it much more. Anyone still making those?
