Traxxas Power Players 2001

Post by Dangeruss »

Stampede, Rustler, Bandit... all appearing together in this Traxxas advertisement from 2001:

Rustler: 1/10 2wd stadium truck released in 1994, spearheaded Traxxas' second generation all plastic platform.

Stampede: 1/10 2wd monster truck released in 1994, a lifted version of the Rustler stadium truck with plastic skidplates and tunnel style chassis.

Bandit: 1/10 2wd off-road buggy released in 1995, a narrower track shorter version of the Rustler stadium truck.

Can't help but be curious if the "Power Players" title of this ad was a riff off Nintendo Power Magazine... 🤔

I picked up a XL-1 Rustler on Ebay a while back for $50. Couldn't have had more than a few packs run through it.

Cool photo... looks like the Wonder Twins went and activated their powers into the shape of RC trucks. :D

It’s been packed away for many years now so it’s been a real long time I’ve seen it in person but I believe it’s the same from memory.

This one was in Mobile, AL. While it was easily in driving distance, it had free shipping.

I've since found an original decal sheet but haven't gotten around to putting them on.
