Yeah!!! Pantera. "...time for Primal Concrete Sledge.@#!"
Me and my buddies got kicked out of the "Cowboys from Hell" show in, like, 1991, for smoking the wrong kind of home-rolled 'cigarettes' - we went around back and listened to some of the set through the wall... had to wait a couple years to see 'em when they came back with the OzzFest and played a lot of "Vulgar Display..." songs.

I wouldn't call it a restoration but I am breathing some life back into this piece. Wild hare i guess. Still has the wheelie bar on it. The Johnson 540 being installed won't require it.

Re: Vulgar Display Of Power (updated pics 4/3)
Car is in good shape. Tranny is super smooth so I'm not going thru the trouble. Shocks need rebuilt and wheels and tires need a cleaning. I have plenty of modern electronics but my cousins will resto the Futaba to compliment the Johnson 540. Body is a question mark. I think I want to paint a now one that will pay homage to a scheme I had on my RC10L one time bitd.

Wheels and tires are in relatively good shape, so I just cleaned them with a Mr. Clean eraser. I've been down the rabbit hole of replacing wheels and tires enough to know it'll have the bank on you like flies on a rib roast.

Ordered stuff Sunday and it arrived in short order. Paint scheme might pre-date the car a bit but I'm ok with that. Hope to find time to ice down a few beers and paint it this weekend.

Re: Vulgar Display Of Power (updated pics 4/3)
Well, unfortunately it's too windy to paint today. I went thru some totes looking for a nice Johnson. . Found one and ironically found the original Mamba Max 5700 first. The Johnson will fit in the rear nicely, but first run, I may use this Paradox I came across. It performed nicely on the Pro Tech Dyno machine.

Trust me, it was too windy here. Rebuilt the shocks and got it ready for electronics and body. Futaba esc is on its way to ya.

Re: Vulgar Display Of Power (updated pics 4/3)
coxbros1 got the Futaba rewired. He's a lot cleaner than I am at stuff like this. I'll pick it up at the next Jasonfest in a couple of weeks. This unit is exactly my first esc I ever owned and this seems like a good excuse to clean it up properly. Should work fine for the set up I'll have in this B3.

Re: Vulgar Display Of Power (updated pics 4/3)
Nice job CB1! ESCs always look great with new or as-new wiring.... this one is a copy of my first, and I plan on using it to race my Mini Mustang at the Vintage Bash in a few weeks.... Definitely follows with the "Vulgar Display of Power" thread topic, as it will be running a fire-breathing silver canTHEYTOOKMYTHUMB wrote: โWed Oct 16, 2024 9:01 pm coxbros1 got the Futaba rewired.
