Thank you! The Racing Jack parts were hard to find and so is the AU-8 universal jointed center shaft that you have in your build.Lavigna wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2024 4:36 pm Absolutely beautiful build! You have been producing so many incredible builds lately. Great work. Your pictures and documentation are always next level.
This really makes me want to finish my Super Sport build. That 3 piece disc and Racing Jack parts are great finds. I am fortunate enough to have them available for my build as well. I love the red theme you chose.

You have some really high quality 1/8 builds going. This one and the Athelete are good assets to the forum!

That's top quality photography, someone should hire you to make their catalogue pictures.

Re: Mugen Super Sport '92 buggy
Some further progress to this build - I've decided to bite the bullet and dremel my REX 350 engine's buggy shaft shorter so as to be able to install Mugen's original flywheel and clutch bell. At the same time, I decided to revert to the shorter S-1A manifold so that the SC-3B muffler wouldn't come in the way of the receiver battery shield/carrier plate.
Note the integrated extension collar of the flywheel that stretches the clutch bell further out so that when the engine is mounted, the carburetor clears the front brake disc.
With the shorter manifold, the muffler sits further to the rear, in fact it hangs over the rear suspension arm, so setting it to the right height so as not to interfere with suspension travel is needed.
I was able to find the optional AC-4 wing stay kit. The wire angle was really tricky so here I used a softer linkage wire from the Kyosho Inferno.

Re: Mugen Super Sport '92 buggy
Some additional option parts were added - the AU-8 universal jointed centre drive shaft, and FC-A air filter unit.
To extend the "Red Edition" theme, I fitted Mugen's "pink" spoked wheels and "640/Victory" tyres. And with the muffler position now sorted I installed the side guards. It turns out there was no need to cut out clearance for the muffler's stinger, as the muffler has to sit higher.
