Well...the car was good while it was in one piece. This new track layout is all tight corners and doubles, it's flowy once you get the rhythm. Tried to land a little closer to the inside of the middle corner and dropped the left rear into a weird outcropping of pipe and, just that sound. So.....and few new parts are required, sadly and I just raced my sons T2.4 in the stadium truck class for the rest of the day-

Man that's a tough break. Might be time for this https://www.dragonpunchrc.com/product-page/losi-xx-xxcr-xxt-rear-pivot-plate

The familiar sound of snapped plastic...
Let us know how the Dragonpunch parts work out.

Props to you for using your cars! :)

Will do. I was there with 3 others also racing XX's and XXts that day, and as someone who runs vintage stuff...anytime I've built anything new, restored and old or whatever there is a trial period where parts attrition just happens. This buggy could have sat in a 130* storage locker for 15 years making X more fragile etc. It's just the way it goes for a few races lol

I know that feel all too well. Last race with the Pro SE had far too many plastic cracking sounds.

Haven't updated in a while... kinda regretting not going to Hoosier about now. Still running the XX CR regularly, the DPRC T plate has been running flawlessly, really liking the 2.61 tranny in the buggy. Added a BK front tower, battery strap, threaded shocks and that's it so far.

this looks like a great build. I have my OG XX car I raced 30+ years ago and all the vintage racing around got me interested in building it up again. seeing how you modernized it for the wheels is great advice to get older cars going again. watching the latest vintage clash online has pushed me to start to get my XX going again and maybe my XXX and XXX-Ts going too. my localish track does vintage but not sure how often. kudos to a great build!

New shocks today, soooo much smoother. The first set of threaded shocks I bought were practically destroyed do they had to go

Rattle canned a new shell, want to see if there is any handling difference on track between the standard CR shell and the Xxellerator shell. Came out pretty good

Track day report-

Buggy wasn't bad, had some issues with the 25* castor blocks making the car tight in the center of the corners and slow to release the rear end so I could square up for the 3 sets of doubles. I would normally increase the rear tie rod length to get more rotation, but I'm limited by the 2 hole CR hub carriers. Swapped to 30* castor and added a front wing and it improved.

The B2 was 12.4 sec laps, the XX was 12.9...so I still have work to do lol. The B2 has more low speed steering right now, and the XX is way more high speed steering.

You can try, some basic stuff mostly from Jrx2 manual. I have not set up a car in since 1994.
- softer than green front springs that are relatively stiff.
- (more) toe out in front
- add wheight into front bulkhead 10g or so. At least XX has space for this under front bumper in front bulkhead. There might be also front-rear weight balance issue with modern battery.
- Continue to use 25 front caster blocks and solve handling issues with other tweaks.
