Looking for transmission or side cases for 2009 Team Associated SC10

Post by dsimon42 »

Hi,

* First, my apologies if I am posting this in the wrong section. I am brand new to the forums. I poked around a bit and didn’t think there was a more applicable location. *

I’m hoping some of you are weird like me and keep absolutely everything for forever!

Back in 2021, I bought a bunch of replacement parts to rebuild the transmission in my circa 2009 Team Associated SC10 Short Course truck, but found upon disassembly that one of the transmission side cases has a hole in it and both have mounts broken off of them.

At the time, I looked up p/n 9826, but it was discontinued and I didn’t see a replacement for it. I checked eBay and amainhobbies.com with no luck.

Fast forward to 2025 and this side project is still sitting on a shelf. My son is getting older and more interested in R/C so I’d love to get my old truck up and running again so I can show him how REAL R/C compares to the cheap “toys” he has used so far!

Does anyone have an old transmission lying around they could sell me so I can use the side cases? Or just the side cases?

I am not an expert on the lineage of these cars and trucks, but based on a conversation with Don Natale at Associated Electric back in 2021, I think the B4 (buggy) / T4 (truck) / SC10 (short course truck) platforms are mostly interchangeable. He also said most of the stuff in the SC10 generational evolution (SC10, SC10.1, SC10.2, SC10.3) are backwards compatible. I’m not sure if that is true for the transmission side cases though.

If it helps, the original box from my truck lists p/n 7026 "SC10 RTR Lucas Oil". I believe I bought it in 2009.

Thanks!
- Danny

So going with 9826, that's the gear diff case. There are a few gear complete gear diff transmissions on ebay right now.
