1/4” wheels on Teams car… what do I need?
Hi all
Picked up a nice Teams Gold car and was hoping to use a set of JConcept Hazard 1.7 and 1.9 wheels.
I have just realised the wheels are 1/4” but the car has 3/16” axles.
Does anybody know the best way to solve this? I think I have the rear sorted with a simple change of the hub carrier and switching universals, but am not sure about the fronts. Can anybody advise what parts I would need. Many thanks.

The carriers are the same, just need the correct bearings.
After that, all you need are the correct axles, shims, and pins.
The fronts are the same.

Yeah, what
said. Replace the 3/16 x 3/8 bearings in your existing carriers with 1/4 x 3/8 bearings, swap in your new axles, fronts fit without modification.

Thank you both for your replies. Parts inbound.
Next problem is finding 1/4" shims in the UK. I misplaced a few and cannot work out how to find spares here. Any tips? Could I go for 7mm (1/4" = 6.35mm).

That is incredibly helpful!
Team Associated parts are actually rather hard to find in this side of the Atlantic!
Which is a problem, because I am loving this build and can see a few more RC10’s in my future!

They're hard to find on this side of the Atlantic too. Associated isn't providing parts support for their re-releases like they should be.vonmarshalll wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 2:39 am Team Associated parts are actually rather hard to find in this side of the Atlantic!

Re: 1/4” wheels on Teams car… what do I need?
So I have decided to use a set of the chrome Halsey wheels up front with the knobbly tires and the standard rear wheels.
The fronts have a black main wheel with the chrome outer and the rears are ivory with chrome.
Am I right in thinking the RC10 wheels take dye well and that I can make the rears match by dying them black? Or are they an ABS and not nylon?

The white wheels can be dyed, or there is also a chrome rear wheel.

Again... what
said
Associated part # 6396

And available in the UK... https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/team-associated-jay-halsey-rc10-rear-wheels-chrome-1368430
Chrome wheels all around would look nice.

Thanks I was sure I had seen them somewhere.
Great to know they take dye though.
The Dhawk look lovely too.

Re: 1/4” wheels on Teams car… what do I need?
Hi I have been looking at Tamiya Sand Scorcher / Frog rear wheels and wondering how to use them on 1/4" axles. I came across these from CRP...

As far as I recall the Blackfoot wheels had the same hub as the Scorcher so I think I can use this. Does anyone know if I can?

Re: 1/4” wheels on Teams car… what do I need?
I have those on one of my RC10 truck conversions, with Monster Beetle wheels. They don't have the barrel nuts, so you will need to source them separately.vonmarshalll wrote: ↑Sun Jun 01, 2025 5:35 pm Hi I have been looking at Tamiya Sand Scorcher / Frog rear wheels and wondering how to use them on 1/4" axles. Juicedcoupe is correct, but don't underestimate the difficulty... they're not a commonly available size.juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Sun Jun 01, 2025 5:42 pm They don't have the barrel nuts, so you will need to source them separately.
