Ball Cups - FanRC?

I thought I saw a post (or comment) at some points saying the FanRC ball cups are a great replacement for the cups included in all the re-release kits. Is anyone running those that can confirm they're an improvement? I used the RPM's on my RC10GT, which worked great, but I'm guessing fitment/clearance becomes an issue with those when used on the buggy. I've also seen mention of Schumacher ball cups working well, assuming you don't mind the look.

The rpms are better if they fit but the fan rc units are pretty good. Way better than AE's reres

RPM's face clearance issues in the front shock tower and bellcrank area on buggies.

There are a few things that might allow you to use them, especially if used together.

Low profile ball studs at the shock tower and center link. Schumacher has a couple options. JC Racing has some as well but they don't have a shoulder. Don't use them on the steering links, they bind before full travel.

Using the DS/GT bellcranks, with the steering links mounted in the rear position.




Moving the camber links to the outer holes of the shock tower. Not ideal but it works. Likely need shorter turnbuckles.

Not using the thicker shock tower or Losi bellcranks. Either of these are tight on a buggy by themselves.

I'm wondering if the Factory Works ball-raced steering with the ackermann drag link solves the issue if running RPM? Regardless, I'll likely try the FanRC to see if they're any easier to deal with vs. the stock ball cups.

yes, our ackerman drag link will allow you the clearance you need. All of our thick towers are also pocketed to allow the ball joint to sit close to the stock position as well.

The FanRC ball ends are not as durable as the RPM, but are very close to the originals (not like the junk AE is shipping). They snap on tight and are a great fit.

Just the info I was after, and thanks for confirming your ackermann link plays nice with the RPM cups.
