So, what did you do RC today?

When it's R/C related, but doesn't fit anyplace else.

What's happening here? Non-racer, as obvious as that is.
Making a lower profile 2.2 Stadium Truck tire by removing 30mm of tire, then gluing back together to lower the tire profile and decreasing ride height by 2mm
See, I wouldn't have picked that... as I would have thought, for the same size rim, the tyre would no longer fit all the way around the rim bead.

Off the rim, then mounted on the rim. Pretty crazy how much the tire and the closed cell foam conform

Time to get out the paint pen and mark the tire with the "wrong" compound dot.

I have 4-5 open builds that I should be working on, but for some reason, this stupid B1 dragster is using up most of the partition space I have set aside for RC in my head. I think I have the front mocked up, but the rear is going to be a whole new ballgame. The front is kinda a printed Mcallister kit, but the outer arm/shock mounts are at a completely different angle due to running the arms at a completely different angle. I still need to work out trying to get a sway bar kit in there.

I've done that for years.

But I've always told someone what compound if they ask

Not a secret at all! I 100% want an AE RC10 B1 version of a Drag Bandit! :D This pic popped up on my FB a few weeks ago, and yep, in my head since! For now, I don't want to swap to a pan car front, with "appropriate" tires. I want this to be more a buggy conversion. More along the lines of the Drag Slash movement, that lead us to the popularity of drag racing today.

Won my first race today!

Wasn't even planning on running my own buggy. Went with a friend to borrow theirs, but ended up getting a deal on a DX5C ($25!!) and figured screw it, I'll throw mine together.

Got 2nd in qualifying in first heat, and then proceeded to win the main!

Pretty happy with a car that was built in the pits 30 minutes before the race began.

This heat outside is converting my outside work time to RC time. The yard looks like crap and the house is falling apart, but I am enjoying more RC time in the A/C. :D

Not all today, but cleaned up a RC10 parts lot from Ebay.

When I got them, they were extremely grimy. Soaked them in hot water and Purple Power for a couple hours, stirring and shaking. Then I soaked them in water and Dawn all weekend, also stirring and shaking. Then I scrubbed the larger stuff down with a toothbrush.

There were also some random three piece wheel parts and a few gear covers.

Amongst the lot, was a handful of RPM parts and some CRP body mounts.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Replaced the Hitec SP-520 esc with a Novak Explorer Sport in my friend's team car. The Hitec never sat right with me and just didn't look good in the car since I installed it.

After

Unsure if I ever posted this car. This is what I started with when he dropped it off.
