I understand the track will be hard packed, but are we talking shallow pins/bars like dirt webs and bar codes, or something deeper like sprinters and holeshots?

Should be like it was in October. Double Dees, Sprinters, or something comparable.

I fully expect to run around like a headless chicken running five classes. Hopefully nothing breaks...

I saw some recent footage of the track. Some sections are a bit rutted, but otherwise mostly smooth compared to last October. Bar tires might also work...

The RC10Talk.com Vintage Shootout is in the books. Thanks to Brian Lee of Insanity Race Track for having us for another event. And a big thanks to everyone that came out to race. We saw some new faces and that's great!

I know Nick DiVitto took some video and pics. So I would expect to see something from him the the near future. 😎

In that group pic, am I seeing ribbed fronts and slicked rear tires on cars??

Ribbed tires, yes. No slicks. A low pin works well. I typically run green Sprinters, but mounted up a set of green Rehabs for the B2 and ran those. It took a little bit for the fronts to come in, but they were good after that. There is surprisingly a lot of grip in the groove. I usually run a treaded tire on the front to calm the steering down. Ribbed tires can be a bit too aggressive.... for me.
