At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. If the 7th rolls around and you want to post them on your own, it's fine. If you want to wait for me to say post them, that's fine too.

The goal for holding off on pics was to lock guys in without seeing their competitors. So if pics are posted before I say.... you're locked in, post your pics... or whatever, seeing the competition may keep people from grabbing a spot when I'm trying to fill them up.

The rule was originally put in place so people weren't sure if I was entering the sure to win Hornet. Its sting isn't just painful... it's deadly.

Last night I was watching an r/c related video on Youtube. There was a part where where he was talking about moving things on to bring new stuff in on his channel. I made a comment about how eventually, the RC10Talk YouTube channel is gonna come to a halt at some point because I'm going to run out of stuff to show off. I don't have the money some of those creators do to constantly be buying new stuff, and I'm not selling stuff that I have now to get new stuff just for a Youtube channel. This morning I thought up a way to get at least 1 new video each month. But it will require your help.

I would like to have a video done for each BOTM winning vehicle. If you win, make a short video (5-6 minutes) of your car and send it to me. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. You don't even have to show yourself in it. If you've watched any of the videos I've posted on our channel, it doesn't have to be anything more than that. But you can get as creative as you want. Show the car/truck and talk about what you've done with it.

You guys up for that?

Honestly, it's not my thing. But I don't have many worthy cars, so it'll probably work out.

Even on Teams meetings at work, I keep my camera off. I don't really do public anything.

Besides, I'm Gen X. We invited social distancing (waaaaaay before Covid!).
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

I know youtube is mainly about live videos, but maybe the BOTM winner could send about 10 pictures of their car to Jason (body on/off, 360°, and top down/underside photos) with a list of hop up/upgrades and then he can piece together a slideshow with commentary? Probably the easiest way, but definitely a different vibe instead of an actual video like you are currently doing.

Just my thoughts for what it's worth...but, from what I've seen, most BOTM entries already have a build thread, w/multiple photos linked to their entry + the required 1body on and 1body off photos required to enter. I've also noticed, and again just my POV, if it's not a shelfer, most have a run video linked as well. The winners are chosen as they are chosen....by popular vote. If you've got a build thread, or run video, or not....it is what it is. That's what was voted for the win. If you want to see more, vote for the one's that show more. Till then, I think the system is just fine as it is, but from what I see, there's a LOT of rc10talk content that is just.....balls to the wall awesome!!!.....From new, to vintage, buggy, pan car, nitro, electric (brushed/brushless), crawler, basher, drift...etc...etc...etc.....there seems to be PLENTY of content to feed a dedicated youtube channel...we buy the stuff, so post the vids on a dedicated youtube channel and monetize it (however that works, I'm old, no clue) if it helps rc10talk....get'er done.

Woah... harsh reception. I thought it was a neat idea. Everyone's got a camera in their pocket. Not like you're asking folks to mail the cars to you. I understand someone not wanting to be on camera, but one of the best parts about the channel (and Hugger19's channel) is you never point the camera at yourself. If people aren't into their voices being online either (it's a thing, I respect that) they could provide a build sheet you could use as a script. That'd be cool, the continuity there, different videos, same voice. I say put it in the BOTM thread as an option, if the winner elects to send a video for the channel, awesome. If they don't, no harm no foul.

Support the businesses that support you... right?

I haven't won in a few years lol, but I think the idea is good and helps the community of vintage RC! I'm down if I can pull one off

I'd be down for that, if by some miracle I ever build something half decent  I think it'd be pretty cool, personally.

Great idea. Don't know if I trust myself to actually pull it off though. No guarantees. But frickin' sweet idea.

Not against the idea of more vids being offered/used for the youtube channel.....just thought there's so much great content on this site......why limit it to the BOTM? There's the, "What RC videos do you like on youtube" thread......why not a "My RC videos" thread...or does that already exist? You could add a weekly byline in it for ones that get bumped to the youtube channel....or separate contest or something....or is permission needed to bump somebody's vids posted here, on to youtube? Just spitballin....but either way, anything that helps this site, I'm for it!
