There's the, "What RC videos do you like on youtube" thread......why not a "My RC videos" thread...or does that already exist? You could add a weekly byline in it for ones that get bumped to the youtube channel....or separate contest or something....or is permission needed to bump somebody's vids posted here, on to youtube? Just spitballin....but either way, anything that helps this site, I'm for it!
Maybe close out your BOTM RC10Talk YouTube submission with something like, "If you want to see, read about, or research more vintage RC badasseryness, just swing by RC10Talk.com! Lurkers welcome! But who are we kidding here...you're gonna end up becoming a member."
Hope you're doin' something fun.

I brought this up at the start of the Youtube channel. I only have so much stuff, and not a lot of funds to constantly buy/build more stuff to create content. I told everyone that they could do short videos and submit them to me to put on the channel. Didn't have any takers. I thought BOTM winners may be more inclined to do it, so I figured I'd throw the idea out there again.

Yes, I could go through someone's build thread, take their pics, and create some kind of video. But no one is going to talk about your build or describe what we are looking at better than you will. And honestly, that will take up a good chunk of my time. You send me a video, I can make a little opening video of what people are about to see, tie them together and upload it. It will honestly take longer to upload than create.

The offer is still out to anyone that would like to do a video of their builds to be put on our YouTube channel. All you have to do is start the video and wait 3 seconds before you begin talking, and wait 3 seconds to stop it after you have finished talking.

Well, while I find the idea interesting, I see, at least for me a big issue... There is already so many people who told me to do videos of my builds and to put them on youtube... But one of the reasons I don't do this is that it is actually a huge work to do a proper video, even short, and I do not have enough time for what is on my todo list...
I would happily contribute, but it's definitely not easy. Writing and feeding build (or tear down) threads is already a lot of work, and from my experience, videos is not only taking the video, but selcting the sequence, assemble them and present them properly... It's a work by itself, and you may consider that a 5 minutes video maybe about 2-3 hours job to make it good...
As said, I would happily contribute if only I have the time...
But in the meantime, if you want to use the run videos of my Zerda and some of the material in the thread to do one, don't hesitate to go ahead with that...
I buy kits to build and ru(i)n them :-)

I think some are still maybe missing what is being asked for. Its not a build video, as in a step by step build video, it is just a recap / summary of the car and the build. Just talk about the car, any interesting stories of where the car came from, interesting parts used, a funny story about how you put the whole trans together wrong and had to tear it down and do it twice, any tip and tricks for anyone who may build something similar, why you chose the parts you did, would you do anything different if you started over, did you paint it yourself and if not, give props to the person that did, how long to collect the parts or did you build it from spares, do you actually like the car now that it is done, was it worth the squeeze, etc etc etc. I have never made a youtube video more than 30 seconds long, and I have never spoken in one, but I think I could set a camera up in front of my car and talk about it while pointing some things out and going through what it was like to build. It would be guaranteed sh!t quality, but I think the request here is for more content. Get rc10talk vids popping up in searches. The more cars, and types of cars that there are videos of, the more clicks.
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Agreed...BOTM is a good idea/source to start for that....but honestly, it's mostly the same regulars that post on BOTM....that's kinda why I threw out the 'My RC videos" thread idea...to limit the effort required from admins to get more youtube content, and broaden the scope of vids provided.....you don't need funds to create content, the members already have the stuff and we spend a LOT of funds (more than I want to admit online...wife might be watching  ) Why not ride that wave...so much great content here already...tap that keg and let the beer flow I say  . Again, just brainstorming, take it for what it is, not being critical....just ideas, anything the group decides, I'd support 110%.
