i think your missing one.

i REALLY need to buy some new screws. i have a 5lb coffee can full of used ones that i'll pick out the best for rebuilds but the selection is getting kinda thin.

that's the same thing that happened to me. all the good ones were gone, so i had to buy a ton of screws, nuts, and washers from the lhs and tower.

Wow, look at all those vintage screws. You should sell them on ebay, you could make millions!

I have the same dilemma as Hoopty and Scr8p, tons of used screws, but the nice looking ones are getting hard to find.

shodog, you're screw collection is "cute" compared to my screw situation.

I've got this handy organizizer thing that is seperated into standard screws, standard nuts, metric machine, metric course, metric nuts, ball ends, links, springs, and about every possible piece of hardware you can imagine from 20 years of RC.

And then....... in the foreground is my "if I can't find it in the organizied thingy, look in this mess and it will turn up". It doesn't really show up in the pic, but that little case has a solid 1/2 inch of hardware throughout, plus other random parts.

Oh, and not pictured is many, many, many unopened bags of old hardware.

I'm thinking of taking it all in to have it melted down so I can go on a nice vacation.

ya, but some dude paid $26.00 for 2 packs of screws on ebay, that you can get at tower for $2.00 a pack.

yea, they are all still available. there was some dude selling 'vintage' rc10 screws awhile back for crazy prices. you can still even get the blue rc10 team car screws from tower i believe.

i just ordered 2 "vintage associated" screw kits from rcscrewz. only thing is they are stainless and not the black oxide or gold anodized, but i've never been THAT much of a purest. i also just ordered a few rpm stealth conversions and a couple sets of lunsford turnbuckles. time to finally finish off some projects and set the bar for scr8p again instead of the other way around.

Yeah, I was just being sarcastic. Did you see the post here where a guy paid like $25US for two packages of screws that would have cost him $4 at Tower. They were listed as "vintage".

Scott, my associated screw collection definetly pales in comparison to most of the seasoned veterans on this board. I am sort of a stickler when it comes to screwing. I like to have new original screws in the right sizes when i do a restore. I have quite an extensive Tamiya screw selection. sometimes highly desirable screw bags can gor for $50-$75. so what i did was buy a whole bunch of screw bags from other cars and piece together what i need.

Here are the ones I use for my restorations. they used to be a lot more but I used them on my cars

Here are my left over sacrificial bags.
